The light is easy to install and only required that I bypass the ...
This light is a true equivalent to a 400 what arc bulb. The light even seems a little brighter so a standard 400 watt arc bulb is said to put out 36,000 lumens and this LED appears to be as bright even though it only says it puts out about 1/3 the lumens. The light is easy to install and only required that I bypass the transformer ballast in the fixture. This took less than an hour and over the next year the light should easily pay for itself with the power savings. I plan on replacing the remaining lights in the shop with these as the bulbs or ballasts fail.

Great upgrade from old style HPS bulbs
We purchased 11 of these to put in our parking lot lights. We previously had 400w HPS bulbs. These are only 100w. Very bright, clear light. We also bypassed the ballast as necessary for this type of conversion. That part was very easy too and eliminates a "fail point". Hopefully they last a long time. We are VERY happy with these bulbs.

I didn't see this coming: Too loud!
The built in fan is so audible that is renders this light useless for use in film and videography.

This works great in comparison to the 400 watt high pressure sodium. I did have to customize the fixture a little bit because the bulb was too big, so if you are going to put these babies in a parking lot fixture, make sure you measure or be ready to customize. I'll update my review if the light fails sooner than expected.
