Easy to Install SATA Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5 Inch 7mm to 15mm Sizes
I had a 15mm 2.5 inch drive that needed a new housing for it, and I ordered this one. It was simple plug and play. The cover of the box slides back slightly so that you can lift it off. And then insert the drive into this unit and close it back up. It was hard to find a housing unit that was for a 15mm hard drive, but this one fits perfectly. I like the fact that it is USB C on the box end instead of the USB 3.0 micro USB connection. By the way, I was using the old hard drive for backing up to a older Macbook Pro and the old original drive box I had had a broken micro connection port. So I was wondering if it was going to see it with the USB C connector at the housing. It came up fine when plugged in, and I simply continued on with backups with no problems. The other end of the cable worked with the USB ports on the old Macbook Pro with no issues. Overall, this is a good housing, has little rubber feet on the bottom and various connections available for the box to a PC. It includes a USB C adapter for the computer end if you need it. The access LED is nice and bright and it is easy to see when reading and writing to the hard drive. I normally don't keep the drive plugged in, but use it mainly for Time Machine backups. Actually, I use two drives to have double backups. Better to be safe than sorry. Overall I am pleased with the performance and while it is a bit more expensive than the slim housings only, the advantage with this is you have the option to put in any sized 2.5 inch drive you want.

fits lacie 4tb 2.5 drives, but make your own vents on both top and bottom parts of this
This fits the 15mm sized drives that are super thick, but I would cut small air vents on each side if I were you. I used a dremel (rotary tool) and made ~8 or so slots on each side, then burred off the plastic that formed from the heat and plastic I was taking off. This enclosure works well for LaCie 4tb sata drives (2.5") and it's a near perfect snug fit.

Cheap Plastic Junk
Technically, it’s one of the rarer cases to fit a 15mm drive. I say technically because it’s insulting to garbage to call its fit garbage. It’s the absolute worst, flimsy piece of plastic I’ve ever seen for a computing device. It theoretically slides together - because screws would’ve broken the bank? - but does so so incredibly poorly that the sides don’t really line up, it don’t close properly, and it pops back open. And, yes, I’ve been very careful to line the sides up… but cheap plastic clips can only dream of so much. Once again, my apologies to garbage but it’s utter garbage.

Buy This Only If You Need a 15mm Thick Case Delivered Quickly
Wow, the quality on this is really, really poor. Yes, it works, and yes, I'm keeping it. But the plastic tool-free case was thin, brittle, somewhat warped, and among the poorest quality I've ever seen. It was also difficult to open up and never quite went back together properly (there were small gaps along the edge). Even the circuit board is mounted horizontally instead of vertically, making the case around an inch longer than it needs to be, and the board is not screwed or glued in place; it's just sitting there. The whole design looks like it was made for forty cents. I only purchased this because I needed an affordable 15mm enclosure delivered quickly. If you don't, I'd highly suggest purchasing something else of higher quality.

Nice case for larger 2.5 drives
I had a 15mm 2.5" drive that was in my PC but I wanted to move it to a USB case. This one works - it fits perfectly and performance has been great over USB 3.1.

Needed for a thick hard drive
I had a dead 5 TB enclosure from a friend. This was one of the only enclosures that actually fit the drive. Been working flawlessly for months now. My friend was going to toss the drive, and this actually worked. Be careful about the thickness of the drive when buying 3rd party enclosures. I had to do a lot of reading of reviews before buying this one!

Not what I expected.
Meh. The case seems to be a molded hard plastic clam shell. Difficult to open. Difficult to close. With the case closed and hard drive installed, it just barely contains the 15 mm hard drive. There is a visible gap where the pieces meet.
