This is a great option for those that want a bipod for the increased stability and ease of use they provide to the accurate rifle shooter, but don't have the ability to attach one via pic or weaver rails. The lock up screw is really well made, I was able to get it tight enough on the barrel of my Mosin-Nagant 91/30 to where it doesn't move at all, which is great considering the high amount of recoil the 7.62x54R cartridge produces. The legs lock up very well from the stowed position to the deployed position, very good construction on a simple design. Theres a knurled ring above each foot that if you loosen, the legs will extend out a few more inches. When you do this be careful because the feet extension mechanism is under spring tension, and it is pretty strong. If you plan on using this bipod on your rifle from a typical range table/bench and you like to prop yourself up on your elbows the leg length is pretty good, I don't have to extend the feet if I'm not wearing a jacket. There are little rubber pads that are glued to the inside of the clamp ring, which was a nice surprise because I was figuring that, given the low price, it would be bare metal and I would have to protect the bluing on the barrel with electrical tape, but that was not required. Its a very simple device and so far its working great, no real problems that I've noticed. If you have already sighted in your rifle you'll have to check your zero because this will change the barrel harmonics of your rifle. It caused the zero on my rifle to shift about 4" but after I adjusted the scope, its holding zero steady again. I figure as long as you have it on tight it won't cause a wandering zero problem. Great and easy solution to get a more stable shooting platform out of an old service rifle!

Works far better than expected.
Purchased this for my Zastava M77, as it is a sporting rifle with no accommodations for a military bipod. The hinge fits perfectly between the gas tube and barrel, allowing me to keep the bipod as close to the receiver as possible. It's pretty stout, and handles the recoil impulse of the .308 Winchester without issue. I see a lot of complains that the bipod can rotate around the barrel, as the clamp has rubberized pads to protect the barrel finish. A lot of military bipods work similarly, so it's not really an issue when you're using it properly.

Good product. Pretty durable with good support
Good product. Pretty durable with good support. Folds forward or backward depending on how you mount it. I have it mounted to my Accu-Strut on my Mini-14 so it's not actually on the barrel but the barrel support. It leans to the sides and gives a little twist room to track targets etc. Can't wait to try it out at the range but just based on its installation, construction and overall looks I know I will like it. ** Would have been a 5 star review if it came with springs to auto close the legs but unfortunately you have to get them yourself if you want them.

Hold Steady
I purchased this model because I don't have picatinny rail on the bottom of my gas block. I wanted something to steady the rifle while sighting in a scope. This bipod fits the bill. I shot 150 round this morning and while there is a little movement on the barrel, nothing came loose. It held the front of the gun steady. The clamp never loosened. The legs lock firmly in the up or down position. The extensions hold tight extended or retracted.

It’s a nice little unit but it came in with one leg not expanding I had to use a pair of pliers to break it loose. It took quite a bit of work to get it to work. I’m giving it a 3 only because of the issues I had

does the job
I could not find a Bipod for my C308 and this worked well. It clamps onto the barrel and holds well

Looks good and works great on Mosin Nagant M91/30
Bipod is sturdy and well built, the joints and movable parts are well machined and have little or no wobble or play. Mounted it to my mosin nagant M91/30 and after a little adjustment and removing the cleaning rod from the gun the bipod looks and works well with it. Definitely provides a sturdy and stable mount!

Didn't make it past the third trip to the range.
Though the majority of the parts are relatively hard metal, the attached pieces are not and it broke on its third trip to the range. I was using this on a Ruger 10/22 which doesn't have much recoil. The spring-loaded top clasp broke and it will not attach to the barrel. I recommend getting something you can permanently attach to the gun.
