Buy it
So far it’s been working extremely well, don’t know if my old PSU was going out or if it was just that old but it was noisy. This bad boy right here… well…..is veryyyy quiet. Like a kitten purring. Haven’t noticed too much of a difference with my cooling though, however, my case is a little lacking on the ventilation side so that may be why. I genuinely recommend this psu hasn’t seemed to do me wrong yet.

so far so good - EVGA 650 GQ Power Supply, 210-GQ-0650-V1, 80+ GOLD 650W, Semi Modular, Black
Review of - EVGA 650 GQ Power Supply, 210-GQ-0650-V1, 80+ GOLD 650W, Semi Modular, ECO Mode, 5 Year Warranty, Black-So far so good.-I first ran this psu unit 24/7 for a week hooked up to a PSU tester. Then I installed this psu into a computer build that has now been running 24/7 since completion.-The only output cable that is permanently wired is the 24-pin 12 volt line, with all other cables modular.-This PSU was on sale here at amazon, shipped and sold by amazon, at an amazing sale price that was 63% off MSRP according to amazon. This sale price from amazon was amazing!-At the sale price amazon sold this PSU, the features are amazing, including all black flat cables.-I have this psu installed in a "home theater" custom computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 3400G APU (no GPU, just using the integrated graphics), an Asus B450-F ii motherboard, a Crucial P5 500GB nvme system drive, and two 6TB cma NAS drives in mirror mode (appears to system as a single drive) to store on the "home theater" media.-One of the few things I wonder about, my only criticism of this psu, is that I wonder why the product's designer decided to put the "eco" mode switch tucked into the back/inside end of the PSU, where it is difficult to access and to check inside the computer's power supply shroud, when most others, even their own other modules, have the eco switch on the outside next to the power switch. Even so, this PSU is worth five stars at amazon's sale price.-Still so far so good, and running happily 24/7 in a custom computer build.-(updated - 2023 - September)This power supply continues to run well 2 years later, often running 24/7 for weeks at a time.-

It's big! It's quiet.
I was surprised by how large it was, but that shouldn't have been a surprise. The dimensions are clearly (and accurately) stated, and it is a significantly high wattage PSU.Furthermore, I installed the PSU in aLian Li LANCOOL II MESH C RGB-X case. The case has a fairly large bottom section reserved for the PSU in the back and a 3.5" x 3 drive rack in the front. The drive rack is moveable but not re-moveable. Given the extra length of the PSU, this makes adding the modular power cables on an "as needed" basis very troublesome, and some of the ports are un-reachable without partially removing the PSU. Personally, I blame bad case design for this. There's absolutely no reason that the drive cages shouldn't be completely removeable from the case. They just don't fit through the side openings. Long story short, make sure you have MORE than enough room in your case from front to back to be able to fit your fingers in and plug/unplug the modular power cables. Otherwise, you'll be removing components to change your power cables.I've been running with the power saving fan throttle option turned on. There are no problems with power delivery whatsoever. However, I'm not even close to maxing the load right now. I just have a Samsung 970-Pro M.2 pcie drive and Zotac Geforce RTX 3070 Ti running on the Asus TUF x570-Plus (Wi-Fi)...and an AIO water pump and 6x 120mm case fans. So...no exactly stressing a 1000w PSU.

Great value and quality.
Really high quality product especially for the price. The fan is super quiet and it has an eco mode where the fan only turns on under a load. I have eco mode off and it is still much quieter than the EVGA power supply that was on my prebuilt pc. The computer sounds much quieter now. I thought it was my case fans making noise but I think it was my old power supply's fan. It is a semi modular unit meaning all the cables except the 24 pin connector to the motherboard are modular. You only have to add what you need for your pc. Speaking of cables this one comes with more than you will ever need for most pc's and enough slots on the power supply to power them all. Installed easily with no issues.I was so impressed that I ordered another 650W GQ power supply for my other pc although I didn't really need it. For an 80 plus gold rated power supply the price and quality can't be beat. The packaging is very nice as well. Comes with instructions, foam to secure and protect the psu in the box and velcro cable ties to loom the wires that you can use to manage wires inside your case as well. I believe there are 4 of the velcro cable straps. I would highly recommend this power supply. There are fully modular versions from EVGA as well. This semi modular version will give you almost the same function of the fully modular at a lower price. For me it was perfect. Throw in the 5 year warranty as a cherry on top.
