good product,
seeing the other reviews on the height if this line they were correct, im 4 ft 11 and a half tall and i couldnt reach the last 3 lines, so i got the hack saw out and cut a couple of inches off the length and bingo no problems, i can now reach all of them, good quality product and if it does as well as my old line ill be most happy, ive had to retire it after 10 yrs service, would recommend this product,

It works but I honestly would not recommend it.
Maybe I was expecting too much for my fifty quid but I'm not very impressed with the Brabantia Topspinner. I had a rotary dryer that I bought from a well known German supermarket about 8 years ago. Unfortunately the UV got to the plastic it gave up and an arm hinge snapped. That cost me just over half what I paid for the Topspinner but was far, far better engineered. To erect the Brabantia Topspinner you simply pull out the arms but to lock it in place you must push up quite hard to lift the collar into place. I had to push up with my shoulder because by hand is near impossible to get enough force. Fortunately I am reasonably tall (5'11"). The locking mechanism is quite sturdy, a sprung plastic ratchet. However, when you come to release this you run a serious risk of trapping your finger as the collar snaps down. I was shrewd enough to spot this before I got pinched. Many reviews say that the dryer is too high and from the pictures I can see this is probably true. Of course it's fairly easy to cut off some of the upright tube and make it suit your height but not everyone would want to do this or risk it. I was fortunate that the existing dryer socket fitted but it is still a little higher than ideal. Oh, and there's no cover like my previous dryer this is an extra £10 or more. For now I will put up with this dryer but keep my eyes peeled for a repeat of my previous model. It works but I honestly would not recommend it.

Watch out for quite how tall this is
This Brabantia rotary dryer is fine once it is in place, with one exception - it is unexpectedly high. My fault, I guess, for not reading all the way to the bottom of the details and seeing the height. Unfortunately, I had bought it for my elderly parents, who simply cannot reach to use it. At two metres high, it towers over them both. The other negative, is that the design of the spear used for providing a stable foundation in the ground is such that getting it into the ground exactly vertical is difficult. Even equipped with my trusty spirit level (which I normally use for fence posts), I failed to get this as close to vertical as I wanted at the first couple of attempts (and you really don't want to know who much effort goes into digging it out again if you are not happy with your attempt at putting it in). But, other than the height, and difficulty of getting the spear in at the right angle, this is a good dryer. Having realised that it is too tall for my parents, it has been dug up again and is now in my back garden. I'm 5'9" and it's too tall for me really, but I'll cope.Recommended, but only for those 6 feet tall.

Brabantia - best washing lines
I already have a brabantia rotary line that is about nine years old. I did not need a new one, but decided that I would try to stop using my tumble dryer so much so therefore I decided that if I had two rotary lines I would be able to get more washing out in one go. This top spinner is smaller than my old one and higher. I am 5 foot 2 and I have to reach up to hang it out, not too much, I like the fact that it is nice and high and do not find it a problem like some people have.I really like this nice neat model, it's easy to put up and fold down and has a handy clip to keep all of the line together. I would highly recommend.

A new beginning!
So far so good! Looks good in our new garden and was surprisingly easy to put in by digging a very narrow hole first, that fitted my hand and trowel, rather than risking the sledge hammer approach and damaging the ground spike. It took some time but patience was necessary! I then packed earth in the very small surrounding gaps using a very thin flat ended stick. I did use a bit of force for the last 2-3 inches by standing on a piece of wood placed on top of the spike and pressing down with my weight. The side ridges on the spike cut into the sides of the hole and fortunately, the soil proved to be surprisingly good quality all the way down. Digging down avoided the hazard of meeting a large stone of piece of builder's rubble as can happen on a new site. Any small stones were easily removed by hand. Nearly new house - new clothes line - job well done! Our previous house still has the original Brabantia rotary clothes dryer, still performing well after many years of efficient service.

Well made.
Very well made, however I have to use a step stool to reach the outermost line area. I am 4’11” and before buying I checked this was the same size as my old wash line (not Brabantia) which I could easily reach. I am pleased with the line overall though as it has a wider line area than my old line and it being taller means my bedding is never in danger of touching the floor when hung.

Ive had this for six years
Ive had this rotary dryer quite a while now. It comes in if a gale is forcast and in the winter, but its mostly left outside all the time.It takes weight quite well I throw duvets over the top of it after they have drip-dried for a while (over a chair in the bath) and it handles that (I try to balance the weight though I dont think it would take it all on one side). It takes a lot of laundry. The only issue I have had with it is that the plastic bit on the bottom of the pole keeps dropping off, this has been happening for about six months.... its not everytime I bring it inside but its more than 50%. Its a pain to get the plastic bit out of the hole. I imagine it will spin without it, my previous rotary dryers didnt have a plastic bit on the ground end, but for now Im trying to think of a way to get it to stay on.
