Update November 25, 2021:I am quite impressed with the weight and warmth of this blanket. This is a good blanket for the winter in Texas. It may be a bit too much for the dead of summer in some locales. I was expecting a much thinner blanket with a looser weave. The weave on this is fairly tight for a cotton thermal blanket. It does feel kind of like a waffle weave thermal shirt. It's warm, but the cotton keeps it from becoming too hot.The California King size for my rather tall (18+") Queen mattress was a good call. The blanket did shrink, despite my washing in cold and drying on low. The blanket does hang enough down the sides to cover up with, but just comes short of being able to tuck any blanket in on the sides. That's okay. My huge mattress is a beast to tuck anything under/in due to its weight, anyway.Original Review:I have laundered but not yet used this blanket. I expect it to perform well and be warm when we finally put together our new bed and dress it using this blanket.Facts about cotton blankets/towels, responding to some other Dollcent/Hillfair reviews:1. Because they are made of lots of 100% cotton in a commercial factory, they will be FULL of loose cotton fibers. That means they will shed a lot of lint in both the washer and dryer when they are first laundered. ***There is nothing wrong with the item; shedding is normal and will become less over time.***The same thing happened with our thick towels from Costco. It also means you are not getting a flimsy item, but one of better quality because it contains more cotton.2. a. 100% cotton shrinks, especially foreign-made.b. 100% cotton shrinks, especially foreign-made.c. 100% cotton shrinks, especially foreign-made.Therefore, size up some to allow for shrinkage and still have the size you need.For our new extra-deep Queen mattress with topper (will be 17"-18" high), I chose to get a *California King* (NOT a regular King) blanket so that there would be enough length to accommodate covering the sides and still be able to tuck it in, even after laundering.3. All-cotton thermal blankets tend to stretch out over time when used on the bed, due to their loose weave. Don't panic too much or too quickly about shrinkage!! After laundering, my 2 California King blankets ended up being about 88.5 inches wide by 96 inches long. After I put them on the bed and start pulling them around when making the bed, I totally expect the blankets to stretch by as much as 6-12 inches in both directions, based on what all my other all-cotton thermal blankets have done.4. All-cotton thermal blankets are not made of microfiber, polyester, fleece, or acrylic, but are made of cotton, a naturally nubbier-feeling fabric. Therefore the blanket will feel more nubby and natural. The loose weave also makes the blanket feel more nubby. This is normal, and not a flaw or a sign of poor quality. Use a fabric softener, dryer balls, or a dryer sheet to give it a *slightly* softer feel, if you must.My take: I think the blankets are more substantial than my other thermal blankets with a looser weave. I expect my 2 identical blankets to perform well this winter. I'm happy all 4 sides are hemmed, so the blankets can be used going either direction.

Overall the blanket is true to size, light weight but very warm. The only downside is it arrived with a few pulls already. We’re very careful not the do anything that creates more. My warning would be pets in or on your bed could make it an absolute nightmare of pulls.We love it. Have not laundered it yet so I reserve the right to reevaluate later.

I have always preferred thermal blankets over the other kinds but l haven’t been able to find just the right one that is as comfortable as my old one. None of the big box stores sell any that have the same feel. On a whim I decided to check on Amazon and came across this brand of thermal blankets. I figured what would it hurt to try, I could just return it if I didn’t like it. As soon as I opened the package and took the blanket out of it I knew immediately that I found exactly what I have been searching for. It has the same feel, softness and texture that my old blanket had. There is no way that I am returning this blanket, it is mine for keeps. Thank you Dollcent and thank you Amazon!!

This blanket feels like the blankets my grandma had. It has some weight to it without pinning you down. It's comforting. It is not necessarily soft but isn't rough or stiff either and really is perfect for layering. It's been in the teens with windchills below zero here for about a week. I received the blanket and slept with it for the first time last night under a light quilt with all cotton sheets. I'm prone to night sweats regardless of the temperature and experienced none last night AND I was warm! IMPORTANT...after reading the reviews, I ordered a king for my queen. I washed and dried it before using and it did shrink a bit and left a lot of lint in the dryer (setting an alarm to empty it every 10-15 minutes, per suggestion from another reviewer, is advised) but by the 3rd cycle it wasn't bad at all and it did not shed fibers while I was making the bed. The king drapes beautifully over a queen bed. I could use it as a bedspread in the summer months. I don't believe that I would've been able to do that with a queen after laundering. It IS 100 percent cotton so the shrinking is not a surprise and I'm glad I sized up. If you remember how well you slept at your grandma's house...it's like that. <3 Comforting and nostalgic.

This blanket is not too heavy and not too light. It fits a sleep number 360 perfectly.

I was really impressed when I pulled the package out of the shipping carton and saw the blanket was packed in a zippered plastic satchel with a handle on it, and there was a fancy ribbon wrapped around the blanket as decorative touch. Very impressive! Then the smell found its way to my nose and I could hardly believe it. Why go to the trouble of that nice packaging for something that smelled so foul? It was, of course, much stronger when I removed the blanket from the plastic satchel. Ewe! I had to take it outside immediately.Just to be safe, I took the blanket to a local laundromat for a thorough cleaning in the washer with detergent. LOTS of detergent. When the was cycle completed, I opened the washer and it still smelled! I tossed it in the dryer and used a high heat setting. Finally, after the dry cycle, most of the odor was gone (not completely, but most).The blanket still maintained a very nice shape, even after my washing and drying. I folded it up and took it home. The fabric is soft and feels nice on my skin. This was actually purchased with the intention of allowing my cat to use it for her bed. She took to it right away, and the smell didn't seem to bother her after I'd washed it. She's sleeping on it tonight and purring away,PRO: Color appears as expected, retains its shape, soft material, well stitched seams, came packed in a zippered satchel with a handle, wrapped with a fancy ribbon.CON: My only complaint is the awful smell. So bad that I can only give this product 3 stars overall rating.

Comfortable summer blanket. Warm enough on cooler nights while still being breathable cotton. Has a good weight to it, comfortable and doesn't feel like a weighted blanket that seems like it's smothering you.On the bad side, this blanket is a pain on laundry day! If you dry it in the dryer even on low, it does shrink slightly.I wash it cool followed by the dryer's no heat setting for a bit, and then I'll hang it to dry, usually by placing it over a laundry drying rack. I think drying it completely in the dryer on low will shrink it up too much to have an adequate amount hanging on the sides.Note: King is perfect for a queen bed. Definitely have to upsize for this blanket.Quality checks are lacking too, because when I unwrapped it, I noticed loose threads poking out of the blanket. The loose thread ends were not properly concealed.But for the price and the look, it's a decent blanket. And the white is classy.
