Looks can be deceiving, so I'm not going to knock these filters. . . yet.However, when held up to the light, I could easily see through the media filter... Not super confidence inspiring as to the MERV13 rating.They are used in an at home smoking lounge, so I'm certain if this filter is a winner or a bust will become clear very quickly. I will report back.At this point adding my .02 to others reviews, the filters appear to be flimsy.Update: found a QR code on one of the filters, scanned it and it told me the MERV 13 filter I bought was in fact a MERV 8 filter. That would make a lot more sense based on how thin this filter is. Nice outright lie on a sale. I won't be ordering these filters again, paying MERV13 prices for a MERV8 product is dishonest. These filters are in no way MERV 13 filters. They do not capture dust, smoke, or odor. I will not be purchasing these filters again. In a sealed filet box, I watched dust and smoke blow straight thru the filter and back into the air. That these things cost 20 each, this is beyond unacceptable.

Doubt these are merv 13 by looking at the quality. Have a glasfos merv 11 that looks like twice the filter. Take a look at the MERV 11 filter on the left vs the filterbuy MERV 13 on the right.

I board dogs in my house so air filtration is important to me. I have always bought Filtrete brand FPR10 from Home Depot, and I was always shocked at all the filter catches. They are literally gray and full of fibers, hair, dirt and dust within 6 weeks or so, so I generally change monthly. I tried this brand because they were cheaper. It's a different unit of measurement but it seemed a comparable product -- the most filtration you could get. But these filters do not get very dirty at all, and the amount of dust around has increased alot. I am needing to dust almost every day now. My freestanding air filters are needing to be changed more often. These just don't seem to be working well, so I will be going back to Filtrete stat.

living in a basement in a house with 4 animals that shed nonstop has been giving me terrible allergies late at night, including sinus congestion, coughing, and some dermatitis breakouts. All I did was tape the filter to the intake side of a box fan, ran it on high, and vacuumed the whole downstairs. the filter worked so quickly within a couple hours the air was noticeably cleaner and I slept great that night. I've had the DIY air filter set up for about a week now- usually running it on low or off while occasionally bumping it up to high when I vacuum. The improvement has lasted throughout this entire "experiment" and im happy to finally have a permanent solution to pet dander and dust issues.

I purchased a pack of these in January thinking I'd see how well they work. During that time the whole house was sick and I noticed I was replacing a filter once every 10 days or so. Considering that the house was dusty and dirty, I thought this was my fault and bought another set, figuring that now that we're in better shape, the filters would last longer.Boy was I wrong.I purchased and received my filters not 10 days ago. Putting a new one in right away since the old one was making my furnace gasp for air. That filter lasted 3 days. I put another one in just a few days ago and today, my furnace went into panic mode because it simply could not pull air through that filter. I've had 3M filters of this level and even when absolutely filthy, my furnace was at least able to pull some air through. These filters have no discoloration on them and look brand new when pulled out. I certainly won't be purchasing these again.

I purchased these in size 20" X 20" X 1". Prior to buying this brand I was using 3M Filtrite Ultimate filters. This brand is 1/8" smaller in the 20" X 20" dimension and do not fit well enough in the filter housing to form a good seal. I will not be reordering this brand and be going back to 3M.

Cheapest price available and seem to work fine taped to my box fan as a basic room air purifier.One star off because the actual filters are not labeled "MERV 13" and therefore may not be.No MERV rating label anywhere except the green box insert as shown in the Amazon photo.Will buy again. Cheaply transformed my 20x20 box fan into a very effective room air purifier...

The horrible air quality from the surrounding forest fires in the Pacific Northwest has been trying. There was a bit on the news for an emergency sort of air filter system that someone can make with a box fan. The smoke particles are very small and hard on filters and the human body. But I taped one of these MERV 13 filters to the back of a box fan I already had and it cleared the air fabulously. We actually stuck the fan in the window and sucked horrible smoke air into to the house through the filter. The filter got brown and yucky in a couple of days - but the smoke stayed out of the house. My parrot and I are very happy with the filters!

This item arrived in a good amount of time. I ordered 20 x 20 x 1 as my last filter said. These, it was said were 20 x 20 x3/4 as that is how they were measured. I tried to get the filter into my furnace and I had to push it in. On measuring the other filters that I ordered, they were exactly 20 x 20 x1, not 3/4 and they did not fit. I did push the filter in as best as I could as the company said I was wrong with the measurement. I had to get my brother in to take the door off my furnace so as to get the filter out. The company was super about giving me a refund.

I am always forgetting to purchase a new furnace filter yearly and balk at the cost of these high efficiency filters. However, for the the cost of about 2 and change at big box store I was able to get 4 filters at a higher MERV value. I am now set for 4 years and simply set a reminder on my phone to change it every year. The filters come individually sealed so I stacked the extras beside my furnace read to insert next year. Filters work as expected and hope I can purchase this same product in 4 years!

If the filter is not sealed at edges, it will let air pass through around filter cloth rendering it useless. The rated filtration, MERVE 13, should provide high quality filtration, but any air spilling around the edges will not be filtered at all. Do not know how to do returns if I have opened the box, and am mostly self isolating so not willing to leave my home to mail a package. Feel ripped off.

I was very pleased with these filters although put them in upside down as the instructions were pretty much as guess for someone like me that ever had to replace a filter before, seems to be doing its job and for that I have to give it this rating. Very easy to install assuming one gets it rght side up.........lol

Expensive but during Covid 19 - you neeed best furnace filters Merv 13 for your home to care of your family
