Atwood 91504 Universal Ignition Control

I purchesd an Atwood 91504 Universal Ignition Control to replace a working , but visually warped Atwood 93257; just kind of a "refresh." It bolted right up, the wires look like they are ready to connect; but the fuse blows immediately when I send power into it. I'm not sure if I recieved a defective item OR if the wire configuration needs to be modifid. Like, is it blowing because the power is being delivered incorrectly; OR did I get a defective unit? Kind of putting this review out here in hopes that someone has some insight.

Plug and play

I bought a used travel trailer last summer everything works great except constant problems with the water heater both the gas and the electric sides of heating had issues. I replaced everything all the parts on the water heater last year the thermostats on both sides gas and electric Ana put a new heating element on the electric side and solved the issues on the electric side works perfectly the gas side worked all last summer with no issues and during the winter no problems when we used it the few times we did then I opened the trailer for the season and the water heater refused to fire on gas and still worked on electric so this control module was the only thing left to replace I probably should’ve done it when I replaced the other parts but didn’t want to spend over $200 at the camper store I found this on Amazon for much cheaper and came with a new spark probe and the electric pin adapter needed for my application a much better deal than the camper store because there I would need to buy all the other parts separately and it was a lot more expensive so I decided to purchase it from here to see if I could get the water heater working on gas again and I installed it in about 10 minutes easy enough and it works better then it ever has it fired right up it’s also quieter than it was before and when it’s fired up I can’t hear it from inside anymore the gas flow is a lot more steady and consistent with this new module. Problem solved I’m a happy camper again.

I know this is technically my fault but I thought I looked hard enough to find the right thing, but for anyone wondering if this will fit a dometic gas/ electric water heater IT WILL NOT. The size is off, the location of the pins is off, and it will only receive (what I assume is the) gas portion of the wiring, and not the other, smaller cluster.

Direct replacement on my Atwood/Dometic G6A-8e water heater. Unplug, unscrew, replace with this and reconnect. 10 minutes and hot water again. And a spare igniter/sensor for the leftovers box

Everything I purchased worked perfectly

As far as I know it worked perfectly. The old one was intermittently failing to spark the burner to light. The new one fit exactly like the old one with the help of the plug adapter. I had a buyer for the RV and didn’t want them to have any problems so I really don’t know how long term the part will be.

We have an Atwood model G6A-8E hot water heater... this bolted into the original mounting holes and the wiring adapter fit perfect. Has worked great since.

Exact fit, wires connect easily, Delivery was fast (4 days). Just in time for weekend camping.
