Power Plays & Straight A's (CU Hockey Book 1)

I'd read the puckboys series first before I knew these ones existed. Hope the following books are as good as this one, college hockey player Foster and his brothers geeky friend Zack are absolutely adorable, couldn't put this book down.

Thought it was a lovely gentle first (and hopefully forever) romance. I thought Zack was an adorable character- with a strength that went unnoticed a lot of the time x

This is my first read from this writing duo as a duo I’ve read all of Eden Finley’s fake boyfriend series and am making my way through the rest but it is me first ever read from Saxon James and I will definitely be diving it the rest of their work. This story is the perfect example of opposites attract. The relationship between Foster and Zach is well written and beautifully portrayed. Stepping out of your comfort zone is a hard thing to do but with Foster at his side Zach finds he can do anything and I love these two characters. Even Seth, Fosters twin is an entertaining character and I really hope we get to see more of him and his relationship with his brother and his best friend whilst finding his own HEA. If you haven’t read anything by these guys before you should definitely go do because think if this amazing story is what they come up with together just imagine the worlds they can build whilst writing apart 😍😍

Boy meets boy - they try to fight the attraction - they sleep together - they fall in love. There is no drama, no angst, no raging jealous ex boyfriend. Just sweet romance. If this is your cup of tea, then you'll love this book. Unfortunately I'm one of those readers who needs more drama. The book is well written and the characters are quite funny and cute.

Why O why did it take me so long to read this?! Must be utter foolishness on my part. I loved how cheesy it was. I loved how cute Zach was and Fosters arrogance. I loved the first time’s in this book. I loved the low angst and adult communication. I loved the supportive parents…gah I even liked that it was a university based romance which I typically hate 😂😂 Everything just worked for me. I am going to binge read this series and I have all the giddy feels because I have so many to go!! After months and months of a book slump with a few redeeming reads in between (all single stories) this feels like early Christmas and I am here for it 🎉😎 5 epic 🌟

**4 Stars**Ok so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one. I haven't read Saxon James before and the two books I have read by Eden Finley I haven't loved so I had never planned to read these books but on a whim, I got this book. And it was delightful.Zach who just doesn't get people, social norms and ew, emotions. Who likes people from a distance in a research capacity. Foster who is cocky and laidback, the centre of attention and who has a one track mind towards a future in the NHL. Not with his twin brother's best friend. Foster is supposed to just look out for Zach but both of them are about to learn just how much they work together.I loved their dynamic so much. The opposites attract really worked well here without completely changing it, but rather they grew into who they are with confidence and grew together.I loved how they settled into their relationship even amidst the tricky and uncertain feelings. There was many chances for unnecessary angst and it didn't go there which was lovely. There's this great balance of the serious and the silly.I loved the different friendships and would have maybe liked to see more of them on page. Zach and Ray's friendship was wonderful and deserved more time. I liked getting to know Jacobs, he and Foster were best friends but I don't know, we didn't truly get to see that. And then there's Seth who is... Was?... Zach's best friend and Foster's twin brother but for me we just didn't see how important he was to them reflected in the story in a real way. And honestly at one stage my heart kinda broke for him because it was like he got left out in the cold. Considering he was this big part of Zach's life and how that dynamic was very much changing, it would have been nice to see something *more* there.Anyways, this was a lovely, sweet and steamy romance that had its moments of emotional levity and hilarious parts too which I had so much fun reading.

The quirkiness, the fun, the banter, the simple yet realistic way the story develops, it was amazing really enjoyed and highly recommended it!

These books (CU & Puckboys) have officially taken the role of my comfort reads.At this rate in devouring 1 a day and will be gutted when I run out!The characters are likable, and funny and I'm utterly addicted to them!!

Foster is protective and understanding without ever being overbearing, Zach is cute, awkward, funny and academic smart. And they work so perfectly together. I love the way Zach can be so calm and rational when Foster is being a hotheaded hockey player and that Foster can reassure Zach encourage him to speak his mind whenever he is nervous because he has been overthinking. Love it! Fluff and heartwarming story with a healthy amount of spice❣️

I started this book a few times and for some reason could not get into it and then I sat down and applied myself and I got sucked in very quickly. I've read two of the other books in this series before this and all of their other hockey books, I loved Foster and Zach, their relationship was so funny and surprisingly romantic. Another great book!

Really satisfying read. Loved the quirky romance of unexpected characters who shouldn’t work but really do. Ready to read the next in the series.

I love this book... 😍😍😍It's my first eden and saxon book... And hell I want more... It's the sweetest story I have ever read... Zach and foster have my heart.. ❤❤❤They are so cute and adorable... And all those kisses give me butterflies in my stomach...Zach... My little ray of sunshine... I connect with him instantly...i never read character like him.. He is so different but still felt like a familiar.... I love the way he speaks so nerdy... I love the way he tries to talk with people..... To push himself out of his comfort zone.... He is so precious....And then there is Foster my sunshine protector... 😍😍. I love the way he interacts with Zach...love the way he gives confidence to Zach or admire him... And I love the way he loves zac...Truly, Entirely, Purely... 😍😍😍I love their chemistry... Their first time is 🔥🔥🔥 They are totally opposite but still fit together....what they said...SYMBIOSIS...And I am so happy that the foster didn't ditch Zac for his NHL dream... He chose both his Dream and his dream man...🥰🥰🥰Can't wait to read other books from this series..
