The father of self development in American literature? Maybe?
“Of all the factors that affect our lives, none has as much potential power for doing good as our ability to dream.”I am so sad I never heard of Jim Rohn before, I read about him while reading The Compound Effect, being the authors` mentor intrigued me to learn more about him.The work is what I call as an “Interactive Literature” you read to take notes, to compare the philosophy to the plan of your life, to see where you are at now, where you should be, what you are doing well and what needs to be improved. It is short and concise yet is no waste of words or information!I started to listen to his videos and ordered some more of his books. It became clear that he is the spiritual father of the philosophical school of self-improvement and personal development. I could see his impact on authors like Cal Newport, and Darren Hardy (100%), Ryan holiday (he has broad school of influence on himself), there are others also who rely more on science and case studies like Malcolm Gladwell, Ericsson, etc. but still you can see Jim Rohn among the lines!A great addition to any person who believes he is a constant work in progress, an essential door to the school of personal development, hope and optimism!
