when you remodel or upgrade a century plus year old home sometimes the most common things don't fit. our place had no place to vent air out of the kitchen and no means short of many thousands of dollars to open up the wall and make a space. so when i saw this type design i thought it was the answer we really needed. it arrives assembled with the exception of the vent pieces that go on top. of the two pieces i only used the one with the vent flaps on it. make sure when popping in place that your vent flaps move in the right direction. air in so flaps need to go up to let the air out. i used just four of the included screws to mount the unit. BEST of ALL this actually comes with a template! no need to pull out the level, measuring tape, etc. just put the template on the wall where you want this to go. drill through the pre-marked holes. partially tighten down the uppermost two screws to slide in place first. then tighten them up all the way before screwing in the next two lower screws. now in place i am confident it will stand up to the test of time. no sagging or other issues at all. the fan pulls a lot of air, more than i expected. the fan noise isn't loud at all. not silent but quieter than most vent fans we've used in the past. the three metal grates come out easily by pulling on the plastic tabs on each, same holds true for putting them back in place. the light is very good, bright and makes seeing things on the stove top easy. it looks good, works well and was a breeze to install! that included template made the whole process go so much easier and i could not be happier as a consequence. i am very pleased with this oven hood vent and would without hesitation purchase it again if for any reason we needed another.

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews on this product but I'm not disappointed by my purchase. I had none of the problems the others had with this product. It was easy to install and matches my stove perfectly in comparison to the bulky one that I had installed years ago. I especially like the lighting and the fact that I could go from low to high taking out the fumes. The cost was not much and well worth every penny. It's easy to clean with a quick wipe down no problem. This one is not as noisy as my last one and it fits in nice with my updates to my kitchen and most of all, it performs well. This is a great addition to my small kitchen. No regrets!

Don't believe what they say. This thing on high or medium is loud. Like very loud. But it does whats its supposed to. It removed some of the smoke and steam from above the stove. It actually looks pretty good and has great lighting that lights up the entire stove. Not really all that bad except for the noise.

The fan looks great..... Not going to be an easy install though, this is due to sloppy unseen work by builder of our house that we have to repair first.

For something like a stove hood that lasts for decades, I would normally buy a higher end model. But they are of course more expensive, and take up a lot of space. And in this case...maybe something like this is all that is necessary. This is very slim and sleek and fits perfectly. There are screw holes on the top and rear, to make installation pretty easy. The whole system is powered by a 3-prong grounded plug, which can be cut off and spliced to Romex, if necessary. The venting system will go out the top to the outside, or comes with a plug to send the airflow out the front. It is simple, but there really isn't a lot not to like. The carbon filter refills are a nice option, though one should have been included. And the LED lights are nice and bright, though they make it harder to change if there's an issue, or if you want to go a bit brighter or dimmer, or another light temperature. The 3 fan speeds are fine, and much easier than the slider that my last hood had. The only issue here is that there is very little indication (words/symbols) to be easily seen for which button does what. Not a big problem. The included instructions were pretty good, although could use an English proofreader. Again not a big issue. Getting more room above the stove (to keep this unit cleaner and have more space to work) are the best features, and it seems durable. I hope the filters will be available as long as the unit lasts, though I imagine cutting them out of a piece of filter material wouldn't be a problem either. I normally don't go for simple, but here maybe simple is better.

Do not buy this, I bought 2 of them. 1 was going to be used for a top hookup and the other for the back square cut out. If you intend to use it for the back square it will not fit USA standards / dimensions and the company refused to return. For the top circle mount it worked out well however after a few months the range hood is making a weird noise and not working.

This hood is very attractive and quite slim. Controls are easy to operate and the fan has three levels of suction (none of which are very loud but all are effective.) The three large grill filters are easy to remove and can be washed in a dishwasher. The optional charcoal filter removes all odors when the hood is set up for ventless (recirculating) operation. The LED lights are quite bright on the stovetop. Most people will probably hard wire the hood, rather than plug it in, so just cut the plug off and attach the three wires to a flexible conduit. Be sure to ground the unit by wrapping the ground wire around the conduit. See photo.

Love it!! A great change to make during our kitchen remodel. It also gives GREAT lighting on the stove.

I was nervous purchasing an appliance online. But freshening up my older kitchen to bring it into this century, the cupboards were not built with proper clearance above the stove but were still in great shape. I just sanded and painted them but my old hood was definitely not to code and made it uncomfortable cooking on the back burners. Though only about an inch narrower than most standard models, it made a huge difference. We did have to rig it a bit as I had an old rectangular vent but was able to use a floor vent fitting from the hardware store and vent tape (we brought the circular insert with us to ensure a snug fit) so that I wouldn't have to go ventless. We've had it about 6 months and it runs great and looks so much better.

We’re very impressed with this range hood! It’s louder than I hoped, but I don’t think there’s a quieter one made? ( That I know of). We love the easy buttons and the great lights. Any smells from cooking don’t reach our noses! Very good purchase.

This range hood brings a sleek touch of black to the kitchen. Installation and operation are both a breeze.

If you are on a budget and need a stainless kitchen hood, this product is perfect. If you can afford a product that's a little more expensive, I'd suggest you consider another option. Even though the product looks super good, the fan system doesn't provide as much suction as my previous, super old 160 CFM fan. Other downsides are the lights. They are super cold (probably 6000k) and don't lighten much at all. Also, the buttons feel cheap, like they could break quickly. I still enjoy the product for now because it's brand new, looks good and the buttons work fine.
