Rise and Shine: Encouragement to Start Your Day

This devotional has often made me smile and burst out laughing as the author pokes fun at herself while encouraging me in my relationship with the Lord. Liz Curtis Higgs is honest yet penetrates the heart with the love and forgiveness of the Lord.

I have only read a few of the devotionals in this wonderful little book so far, but what I have read I have thoroughly enjoyed. They have been uplifting and inspiring. Liz Curtis Higgs remains my favorite author. Her sense of humor shines through in everything she writes, but she always has a great way of getting the message across. I highly recommend this book and anything else that she has authored!

I have only just begun reading this book but I am familiar with this author. My firs impression is some of the daily encouragement sections are very short. I like it just the same.

These devotionals are a quick read and Liz’s writing is always enjoyable and right to the heart.

How pleasing it has been waking each morning to Liz's quirky humor and to witness her love for the Lord. Continue touching and changing the hearts of others. May God bless you all of your days.

Incredibly good read full of scripture with stories from the author's life that will have you rolling with laughter. She has such an amazing sense of humor as she tells readers about so many of her embarrassing & hysterical escapades in her journey called life. I highly recommend this book for lots of thought provoking insights & many giggles for your day!!!

Liz Curtis Higgs is one of my very favorite authors and speakers. This book gives you something to ponder and be encouraged by every day! Buy it! You will not be disappointed!!

Having enjoyed her "Bad Women of the Bible", I was not disappointed with this daily devotional. As a single, not all of the devotionals directly apply to me, but I so appreciate her love of the Lord and her love of daily life. I am encouraged and challenged to keep on, keeping on with the Lord through her words.
