Very good item for killing fox tail and crab grass and not your grass.

Southern Iowa, I did not put down a pre emergent this year and the crab grass exploded this summer. I put this down with a liquid harvest surfactant and marking dye out of a have sprayer. In two days you could see it going to work. In two weeks my yard looked completely dead. It wasn’t just that much crabgrass nuked! Didn’t seem to cause damage to any of the actual grass. The clover it didn’t do much with but intend on hitting that with something else. Make sure you use a surfactant!!

I have waited until six weeks after initial application to write this review. The product works as advertised on crabgrass, and I am pleased with the results. I followed all instructions for using a gallon pump sprayer, but I did add a small amount (1 tsp) of a commercial surfactant product recommended by others in order to get the XLR8 to stay on the crabgrass and not run off so quickly. All the crabgrass I sprayed died in a few days and is slowly disappearing as the lawn takes back over. Expensive product but well worth it to solve the problem I had this year.

Used on Dallis grass late spring. Weakened it as well as my Bermuda. Thought I’d give it a try. Not really effective on my other weeds either.

After a long hot dry summer, my lawn was overrun with crabgrass. I’m not a lawn person, but I couldn’t stand looking at it any longer. I sprayed my lawn with XLR8 and 4 days later, ALL the crabgrass and broadleaf weeds started dying. In another week, all the weeds were dead. Job done.

I purchased this product to spot spray areas of crab grass that I have in my yard. My anticipation was that it would kill the crab grass without affecting the surrounding turf. It did not kill the grab grass, yet killed all the grass surrounding it.

Have been spraying my yard, which is a really big one with this stuff. Have both used a hand sprayer and tank sprayer. It does eventually kill the crab grass, and my Bermuda had survived. It takes several applications over several weeks. Doesn't seem to kill all types of crab grass, but it is slowly killing the species that I am most concerned about.

This product really works. Easy to use, justo follow the instructions. You can see that this product doesn't kill your grass, it only kills the crabgrass. In my case, the crabgrass was very mature and I needed to reapply it to some areas.
