Safe, just the right size for your hand, and can get under the nails to smooth out the nail.
I used it on my little Toy Poodle, on only four of her toes on her back feet, to be specific, her four outer toenails. I really liked the nail file, because she is black, and her toenails are black, not like a white poodle, where their nails are white, and easy to see. I am very afraid of cutting her toenails, because you can get too close to the quick, and then you have a problem of her foot bleeding. Anyway, the Nail Files are Great, not too big and clumsy to hold and would highly recommend them. Would use the file on all her toenails, but they are not needing to be done just yet. Thanks

Works adequately
The file seems well made and is easy to use. I have a Great Dane, so the nails are extremely large and dense so the file doesn't work quickly, but it will allow me to maintain the length if used often enough.

Easy way to shape dog nails
When my dog gets her nails cut, they are quite sharp and I get scratched. She refuses to let me grind them. This worked great and only takes a few minutes after each cutting.

Used on double dew claws to get them off the pad
I have a dog that was basically a wild dog for the first six months of her life. She then lived for six months at the shelter. It has taken a while for her to be at all comfortable with having her nails done. She has double dew claws, and they were curling around into the pad. I could not clip them without hurting the pad. I used this file to carefully get them away from the pad. It did a great job, and my dog accepted it well.

Not very good for large dogs
A little small and not great for larger dogs. Heavy duty Emory board files better.

Looks great
Haven’t used it yet but high hopes here!

Correctly using it
If your correctly filing the nail it doesn't need much pressure at all. It took me a minute to figure out what angle the file needed to be but once I filed in the correct way it worked with almost no pressure applied. I found that if the file is sideways almost in an angle with the way a nail would be clipped it worked really well and quite fast on an unclipped nails of a Pitbull about 60 pounds.

Great for pittie toes!
We have 2 xl bullies and their nails are as thick as your pinkie finger. They’re freaked out by a dremel so we had to find a quiet option. This is pretty heavy duty..and they don’t mind it at all! This one’s a winner!
