You have earned this beautiful and well-made jar
Let’s face it, if you’re keeping a sourdough starter, you’re probably a pretty awesome person who does a lot for other people. I mean, they can just walk into any 7-11 and buy a loaf of bread, but are you going to let your loved ones eat that crap? Heck no! You’re going to bake them bread that takes longer to make than birthing a baby! Buy yourself this beautiful jar, you’ve earned it. And aside from just being an object d’art, it’s actually really functional and sturdy. The wide mouth makes it easy to keep clean. And in the summer when the fruit fly invasion invariably happened, I wasn’t remotely worried about them getting into my starter, Sharon Kneadles. Once you flip this top, this lid is heavy enough to hold itself closed, even without flipping the latch, just in case you have a blowout. I love it!

Excellent quality
I am using these containers for food storage. They seal up perfectly and my sugars, flours, and other good are safe from insects. Fair warning: the glass is heavy and very good quality. So if you want or need a light weight container, this isn’t it. They look very pretty lined up on a shelf! A heavy duty shelf!😊

Pretty and suit my purpose.
One jar in my pack of 6 was broken within the packaging. Amazon gave me a credit back for that (thank you). Otherwise, these jars serve the purpose I had in mind. The rubber rings are tricky to attach, so do that BEFORE you fill the jar up with something splashy. These require hand washing.

Lasted 3 months before leaking from bottom.

Good jar
It's perfect for sourdough starter. That's why I bought it and it works great. Buy a couple, I did.

Gorgeous and functional
I use this to store raisins, not to can. It's gorgeous, and works perfectly. The wire bale closure is a bit tight, but that's probably a good thing for canning. A lovely object.

Jars broken
Was poorly packaged so half the jars were broken. They would have been really nice had they been in tact. No indication the box was glass and fragile!
