A bit of a faff
If you imagine that you will be able to go downstairs on a sunny morning, swing this out for a coffee in the garden, then swing it back again and get off to work. Then it’s not for you. You need to be prepared to reach right up to the top of it to zip it up and unzip it, and untighten and then tighten all the joints with the clips. It doesn’t sound a lot - five minutes to set up and five to put away, maybe less - but the outdoor morning coffee won’t be quite as relaxing a venture with all that faff either side of it.If you are going to get it out, it should be for at least a morning or afternoon to make it worthwhile. It took me about an hour and a half to fix it up from out of the box. There were no instructions with it, not even bad English translated from the Chinese, so I had to work it out for myself. Again, a bit of a faff. And there was no strap or anything to hold the cloth tight when it’s put back against the wall.Other than that. It does the job.

Does the job better than the old awning
This is the second one we have bought, we were unsure that it would be sturdy enough so tried one out first. It proved us wrong and is perfect for the job - and for once the fixings provided do the job (normally I have to throw them out and buy new ones). My only (slight) gripe is that the parasol itself is a bit tricky to attach/detach from the mount. Once you get used to it, it is fine but the first couple of times you seem to be fighting it!
