Solid docking station with reasonable price.
IOGEAR makes great switches and other USB accessories. I recently purchased their Thunderbolt docking and very happy with it. I used to use a USB docking for my 13" MacBook Pro but the Thunderbolt is way better. It is plug in play and provide uncompressed 4K output. 2 things I like the most. 1.) Front dedicate charging port. Even the computer is off, I can still charge my iPhone or iPad. 2.) Optical Audio output port. I can connect to my sound system for better sound quality. Due to the optical audio output, I cannot to use the normal headphone unless adding a headphone amplifier. It could be the downside for some people. Other than that, I would say it is one of the best Thunderbolt docking station in the market.

6 pin female input Upgrade needed for older 6 pin male to male interfaces.
Good delivery time, professionally represented. The IOGEAR Thunderbolt 2,GTD720 Docking Station could have had a 6-pin FireWire female input socket from my Focusrite Sapphire Pro 40 as it did not have a USB out, the newer version does.First you I needed a > MD464ZM/A Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter which converts the Thunderbolt to 9-pin FireWire 800.Then I needed another adapter for 6-pin FireWire 400 devices to go from the FireWire 800 to the FireWire 400. Whew, At least I saved about $300 + on a brand new one.

Ok, could have used more instruction
Purchased this to convert a satellite office. It was easy enough to use, which is good because the instructions are less than ideal. Having problems getting an immediate connection to the internet through a cord, and can't figure out how to get sound. Perhaps instructions would have helped. Otherwise, does its job.

it has two thunderbolt ports and three usb ports.....would have been better to have five or more thunderbolt ports and no usb ports.

Worked perfectly for me
My goal was to connect a ThunderBold Hard drive and a second HDMI display to my older Macbook pro and it worked perfectly for that. Plug and play and no issues so far. Seems to work great.

Awsome and powerful docking station
I used it for live streaming from mac book pro. Muti cameras. No lagg no fails for 1hr streaming 3 cameras and usb audio interfaces.

Ottimo docker thunderbolt2 ma non completo
Ha tutte uscite descritte, unica pecca non supporta i convertitori thunderbolt2->DP (solo la catena thunderbolt2) quindi scordatevi di utilizzare due monitor esterni perché' al massimo potrete utilizzare l'uscita HDMI mentre il secondo monitor dovrebbe avere l'uscita thunderbolt2 per essere connesso al macbook. Nonostante questo e' un ottimo prodotto per il prezzo che ha ed e' di ottima fattura (alluminio), ottima anche la dissipazione di calore.
