Salamander AV Basics SDAV5/7225/BO AV Basics Cabinet

First one arrived damaged beyond repair somewhere in shipping. Seller was easy to work with in getting a replacement shipped, and also gave me credit for the amount I had to pay to have a second one carried into the house. Responsive and communicative. As for the item itself, it is sturdy and good looking. The center channel speaker shelf fits my speaker perfectly. One thing of note about the weight it supposedly supports ... I had read conflicting information on the Salamander website as to whether it only supported 80 lbs, or whether it included supplemental support posts that would allow it to hold more. Well, it does come with the added support posts on the bottom (which aren't visible in the picture, but are each underneath the middle walls beside the center drawer) and they provide plenty of added support. I wouldn't hesitate to put more than 80 lbs in/on it, as long as you use the supplemental supports (which are barely visible in use by the way, since they sit halfway back from the front of the unit).

I am extremely happy with this TV stand, looks very neat and expensive. I use it for my 65” TV and fits all my systems: cable, AV Receiver, DVR and even center speaker in the center compartment. It is real wood and the print of the wood looks great. Be aware there are additional legs, total of 6. Be careful when moving it, I wasn’t and I broke one of the legs. In order to move you need to slightly lift it up. I don’t know how they did the glass doors but cable & AV Receiver accepts the signals without a hitch.

Well made. Sturdy. Great wire mgmt and deep storage for larger receivers. Highly recommend.

this is a nice looking stand but extremely heavy. make sure you have help bringing house because delivery will refuse to bring it in.

I just graduated to a 70 inch TV and needed stand that would accommodate a larger TV. I loved all of the BDI cabinets but after moving into a new home I just couldn't justify spending that much money on TV cabinet. After receiving this cabinet I am not disappointed at all, its beautiful and has a ton of space and has cut outs making running cables between components no problem. I'm not sure what they have done to the glass but none of my remotes have issues operating with the cabinet doors closed. If you're on the fence and looking at this cabinet pull the trigger it's a very high quality furniture piece at half the price of BDI.
