Yookers Metis Refillable Fibre Pen in Matt Black Lacquer 1.0mm Tip

I tried this pen because of people raving about them on Twitter and I have to say they were right. It’s basically a really good quality fibre nib pen which runs on regular ink cartridges, which is to say it’s a fibre nib pen where you can change the ink colour at will to just about anything you like. It’s a joy to write with too. You can also buy alternative nibs if you prefer a different width. If you have a thing for stationery, it’s essential kit.

I love the idea of being able to change inks with the ease of a cartridge-based fountain pen, and the fibre-tip allows for speedy note-taking. The quality of the pen barrel, lid, clip and “nib” is all very good. The “nib” however, is not felt - it is a porous plastic and consequently, it is very hard. If you inadvertently leave your pen nib-down, you can expect some ink to ‘blob’ around the nib and this can affect your initial writing - this is why I can only give it four stars. That said, ink delivery is smooth and regular. The ability to swap out ‘nibs’ is a real plus, so if you want to be able to use wide (1.0mm) or thin (0.3mm) nibs, you can order them. The nib will eventually wear down so I would recommend ordering a replacement with the pen if you choose to purchase. If you do a LOT of writing then I would still opt for a fountain pen, but for rapid note-taking, I'm really happy with this purchase.

I love to write with a fountain pen as much as I can. I was intrigued when I came across this pen's listing and purchased it to see what it would be like to use. So pleased I did. It's a lovely pen, solidly made, nice weight and writes really well. Ink flow is nice and smooth. Love it.

Love it. Felt tips are a dying thing - so hard to find a quality felt tip. Nicely weighted.
