The leak was the least of my worries
I hate to write a bad review for a small company, especially when they seem to really love what they do, but I have been through so much trying to make this thing work.I read all the negative reviews before I purchased this bell siphon for the aquaponics system. It leaks? No problem. I can work with that. It was easier and faster than other kits and certainly than starting from scratch for a beginner. The issues wasn’t with the leak, (which boy howdy it does) but with the clogging. I used clay pellets for my grow media, which I thoroughly rinsed before adding to the system. In hindsight if I had known to sift it to a certain size pellet, I certainly would have done so. I don’t recall seeing any kind of warning like that from the manufacturer, but that’s easily excusable as operator error. But it does make it less beginner friendly. I was very lucky that the flow rate from my pump was equal to the level of clogged drainage from the siphon or I would have had 20 gallons of fish poo in my apartment.Giving them the benefit of the doubt I am VERY much a beginner and I’m sure I made many mistakes. (Pre fish I flooded my living room twice trying to set it up) Just wanted to write something for the next person who tries it.I unclogged the siphon twice before wrapping it in netting to try to keep the Little Rock’s out. That eventually broke and I was back to constant draining. I’m so frustrated that I think for now I’ll switch over from a flood drain system to a continuous flow system.Best of luck to you. I hope you do better than I did. Don’t be like me- install an overflow pipe in the beginning.

Oversimplify
It's a simple design they put an extra breather hole that has no actual use. The item is 3d printed but not properly hollowed out for proper flow. It worked better after filling the breather hole but never worked properly. The s drain on the bottom isn't big enough for the design. Go simple with the design so it works

Don’t buy
It’s not a bad idea, but the 3D printed bell siphon makes it so you cannot get a tight seal.
