A wonderful help for empaths
A wonderful help for empaths! The techniques in this book make the quality of an empath’s life better. They can put an end to suffering on behalf of others. They help an individual become stronger and balance sensitivity with strength. Unskilled empaths suffer through taking on the pain of others while skilled empaths use their sensitivity to help others while not hurting themselves in the process! There is a wealth of information about the different types of empaths, and the pros and cons of having particular gifts. I could relate to so many, especially the chapter on animal empaths. The list of problems associated with this gift were so familiar! Now I know what to do about it.The format of the book reads like a workshop-in-action. It’s like having the teacher there in front of you, giving a full background so that you have the knowledge basis for the techniques to come. And she addresses some common problems and questions that can come up in the learning process.I can’t rate this book highly enough! For those who want to turn their sensitivity into a blessing and put an end to some common problems of unskilled empathy, such as confusion and worrying and low self-esteem, these techniques can really work. Quality of life improves with skill level. Being a more effective person, and a stronger person, can be the result.

Best book for managing empath gifts
If you think you might be an empath, and you want to know as much as you can about being one, you owe it to yourself to get this book.Being an empath isn't necessarily about feeling someone else's emotions; there are 15 different empath gifts, only 2 of which are about emotions. This book names and describes them all. It gives practical techniques for healing the effects of involuntarily using the gifts and then for turning the gifts off so they don't interfere with everyday life. The author has other books about being an empath as well, including a quick-and-easy version of this one (for those who don't need as much background information) and one for learning to use empath gifts safely (meant to be read after this one's techniques have been mastered). The techniques are not a lot of work and may even come to be fun.

Every Empath needs to read this book
Rose Rosetree has completely nailed exactly what an empath needs to function joyfully and easily in the world. I can't tell you how relieved, happy, grateful and fortunate I feel for the exercises in this book. I have tried many, many other techniques over the years including boundaries, shielding, clearing and other meditations. For an empath this is by far the most helpful I have found. I just wish I had known about it 20 years ago. If you suspect you are an empath just give it a go. It's not a huge investment and it might be the best thing you ever discover. Thanks so much Rose for doing this work and making it available to everyone.

Life Changing
This book explains in great detail what an empath really is. We do not become empaths, we are born this way. The 'Coming Home' Technique has beautifully and oh-so subtly changed my life. I've read and re-read this book many times, learning in new and different ways each time.

Irritating
The book starts with stories and then quizzes to see if you are an empath. I felt it was a waste of time and am quite annoyed that I purchased this. Better information on Google, honestly.

A must-read. Period.
No longer struggling to cope! Feeling much more relaxed, relieved and rested. Rose's lifeline for those of us caught in the riptide, drowning in a sea of ineffectiveness. Regardless of your beliefs about empaths (or anything else), this book will plant your feet firmly upon the shore, and you'll be truly ready to get somewhere!

Sorry for the rant
Where do I start? Rose Rosetree has definitely done her research on the general ways on an Empath. However, I myself am Empath and I did not feel very much 'connected' to what she was saying..and she said a lot! Yes, there are grounding skills and meditation...There are daily survival techniques that were 'highlighted' ...but where is the emotion? Where are the struggles addressed as being an Empath? There is hardly any information about keeping yourself 'shielded' from energy vampires and not much if at all any information about Sociopaths and Narcissistic people we need to protect ourselves from. No actual mention of that amazing moment of feeling the flow of energy from your loved one flow through you body and in that instant you know it's their energy not yours. Too much terminology, 'TMI' (too much information) is not needed to be used as a terminology just to make yourself sound like a 'professional'. If you want to know what it's like being an Empath and if you are reading this as an Empath, join the 'Empath Social' group on Facebook. We all know and understand each other and certainly didn't spend ~£7 on the support and genuine advice. Sorry Rose but keep to your Medium skills, you surely haven't been through the turmoil and daily struggles of an Empath. Lastly, we CANNOT switch ourselves OFF which was mentioned by you that we can *sighs*. We can 'shield' and not all the time will e.g get the illness off someone next to us 'on the subway' . It depends on how much energy if subjected to us at the time from that person. Like I said, fellow Empaths join Empath Social (on fb) - for free, and connect with us - the only Ines that can help you!!! Love and Light xx

Rose gets the empath experience - the book wil get you started to developing your own skills
This book introduces some techniques to get an empath in control of their gifts. Rose understands that, for empaths, their gifts are very personal and bring very personal experiences. Feeling what it's like to be another person is not like the objectivity and detachment that come with psychic gifts. It's a very intimate gift that triggers some very sensitive, very human responses. Rose warmth, humour and compassion show an intimate understanding of the empath experience.Like many people, I have both empath gifts and also psychic gifts. My experiences with psychic development left me feeling that an aspect of myself was not being recognised. What is the role of emotion and an up close experience of someone else? It has to be more than contamination. You can be a medium and also an astral empath and so your experiences may not aline with those of your mentor in mediumship who may not understand your more emotional experiences with the other side. Anyway, that's a bit about my own experience. In this book, Rose introduces the different types of empath talent she has come across. She gives explanations and examples of the experiences that come with these talents and the pros and cons. This commentary comes from her years of experience. I would never had thought someone could be a mechanical empath and to feel what's going on in a machine. Personally, I have no concept of that, but that sounds amazing! She knows how important it is to keep things in perspective and to ground empath experiences in everyday reality. Her emphasis is that to be a skilled empath, you do need to be rooted in your own life and sense of who you are first. Rose works to really immerse the reader in this concept and to learn to recognise when they may be subconsciously merging with another person. This sounds simple, however it is easier said than done.Rose goes through the various ins and outs of the empath experience, defining common terms terms and adding insight with her colourful discussion. Reading the book is quite like talking to Rose in person and has developed from the hours she has spent mentoring empaths in person.Self understanding is a somewhat non-linear process! It's the kind of book that is most helpful (to me at least) when you read it in bits while seeing how it relates to your own life, the maybe going back on things later. Her own empath gifts are amazingly fine-tuned after years and years of self development. Reading this book will help you start the journey. Who better to get started with than this wonderfully talented, passionate teacher?

a really good book, especially if you are looking for explanations
Have only read half so far, a really good book, especially if you are looking for explanations! I stopped reading because I didn't have anywhere quiet to go, but will get back to it for sure. For those empaths out there, this is a really good start to help you, and you won't feel so crazy after all, and it helps you manage and even switch it off now and again. Born an empath, who knew?? and there aren't many of them either. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for answers.

Great resource, but I feel it is a bit rigid
This book offers great information on how Rosetree conceptualizes being an empath, as well as methods to focus your consciousness on oneself. The only think I did not like was the author's insistence that the reader do the exercises exactly as she outlines, and not to deviate from them. Maybe if Rosetree gave more information as to why she has formulated these activities and therefore why she does not advocate people straying from them, I would have given it 5 stars.
