Concise brief history of human nature in governments
This book provides a very concise and brief history of human nature in governments designed to gain power over other people as relating to the "new" governmental "fad" of socialism. Nothing is new under the sun and this book walks through written historical societies and "thinkers" that have repeatedly demonstrated the failed ideologies and attempts to implement this never successful governmental structure and why. These attempts are reflected against the great experiment in America, can people govern themselves? What premises and restrictions to balance powers between branches of government and what ideal are required to make this a successful form of government.

History and Future of Liberty
William Federer is a distinguished author of 23 books. I highly recommend his new book to anyone who cares about the future of our country. It is systematic, comprehensive, and very timely. The book has 123 chapters, covering a wide range of topics, and incorporating many significant quotes from historic government leaders and thought leaders dating back to Plato, America’s founding fathers and many U.S. Presidents and government leaders, and significant relevant teaching from the Bible. Here is one notable quote from President Ronald Reagan: “The Founding Fathers understood that only by making government the servant, not the master, only by positioning (placing) sovereignty in the people and not the state can we hope to protect freedom and see the political commonwealth prosper.”

The history of Socialism
I am finally finishing this book, reading it on and off, sorry I didn't read it through. I highlighted areas that were most impressive, so I caught the redundancy of some of the quotes and, likewise, as another reviewer said, it was quite choppily written. However, It reminds me so much of what is going down today, that it should be a 'must read', should our education system ever be overhauled to reveal the truth. It's obvious the writer is a conservative, although he speaks highly of Democratic presidents including Kennedy and previous. A good book for discussion but also to remind the young people today that forgetting the past and believing in the promise of a utopian future is naive, at best.

Why America has accepted socialism.
The author, William J. Federer is one of my favorite writers. This book is easy to read and fully explains why America is in the position we are in. Federer has researched and quoted countless people to make the point. The book is a critical resource for anyone searching to understand where this utopian ideology comes from.

A must read for anyone and everyone.
Well annotated, brimming with historical examples the utter disastrous failures of socialism again and again and again. Showing the anti human nature and brutality of socialism in real terms with how seemingly innocent little steps one by one, by design, bring the full horror of authoritarian dictatorships to a trusting populace.

disappoinitng
It reads like a long list of quotes with commentary snippets slotted in here and there. It's taught me never to buy a book that won't let you look inside first.
