This gown is a beautiful color and looks good on. Had it come in a petite size, it would have been perfect. I ended up returning it, because of the length. I thought I could pull it off, but even with high heels, it still made it difficult to walk.

Eggplant color/size 20. I'm 5'5" 240 lbs. I think the dress ran big. I had it taken up about 1 1/2-2 inches and wore it with kitten heels. The drape was very flattering. The only problem was the shoulders kept slipping all night, showing my slip/bra straps. Very uncomfortable. I also carried a purple/paisley pashima to cover my shoulders for this midwestern winter wedding. Here's the thing... I just noticed now (3 days after the event) that there were snaps at the shoulder that I could have fastened around my bra straps to prevent slipping. Wish I had seen them earlier. It's still a great dress for a plus size woman though.

I looked FOREVER for a Mother of the Groom dress. Most of the dress designs available are horrible for older women who have a matronly figure. I have an apple shape and did not want to look like a grandmother. Most MOB dresses which fit my figure either had large asymmetrical overblouses or made me look pregnant. I seriously do not understand why it is so difficult to design a classy, comfortable long gown or pant suit for an older woman who no longer has an hourglass figure.This dress is the exception. It may be a tad heavy but it was very comfortable, hid tummy issues and I could wear a regular bra. Being able to wear a regular bra is a huge plus for a full figure woman who wears an E cup. I did have to pin my bra strap to the dress to keep the shoulders up because the internal bra strap broke but it still looked great. Many people told me I looked stunning and privately said better than the MOB who is 20 years younger.Wore a 14W for my 5'7" and 175-pound frame. A 16W and 18 were too large and a regular 16 too small.

This dress was pretty but it was heavy and cli gy so ,not very flattering.

This dress was the perfect mother of the groom dress. It is very light weight which made it comfortable to wear all day. Loved the style and fit. Highly recommend.

Fits pretty good to size. I bought a 10 and I typically wear a 10-12. I have to have the straps taken up a little and hemmed. I would have ordered a 10 P but it was not available. That may have helped the shoulders and hem. The dress is very comfortable. The Navy is a very dark navy, but I love it.

After spending nearly a year browsing dresses, I’d almost given up on finding the perfect Mother of the Bride gown. I finally contacted the fantastic Amazon Prime Try Before You Buy program and just asked them to send me a few to try on that they selected. I admit that I wouldn’t have even tried this dress on because I’m a heavy woman and this seemed to be made for slimmer ladies. But I tried it on the day it arrived, and we all just fell in love with it! My husband couldn’t take his eyes off me! Our daughter, the bride, proclaimed it to be “The Dress” and it even received a compliment from our teenage son, proving that it is, in fact, a miracle gown!

Updated: just Wow, such detail…bra straps have a clip so my straps did not fall down and show idk this until I put it on…seams never puckered just smooth…overall a perfect fitting also!Just gorgeous and flattering, fabric is soft not clingy and hangs like a million bucks! Can’t wait to wear it for a semi-formal wedding…

This dress is shockingly flattering given my recent experience with a purchase from Alex Evenings. It is not matronly or frumpy, actually quite flattering especially if you have a smaller bodice and hips for days :) flattering a line for all body types. You can add a belt to the grey one for added shaping. I like the dress but considering a different colour. The grey glitter dress leaves glitters EVERYWHERE - not a deal breaker if you don’t mind leaving some angel dust. I think I will just get a different colour but excellent purchase. Also, the size 10 petite was too big for me! Awww… Alex Evenings, you flatter a girl. Down to size 8 petite then.

The picture in the ad doesn't quite show the sparkle in the dress. It is very beautiful - very formal.

Even with a built in bra, which usually never fit me properly. Very happy with my purchase! I wear 38DD cup, so not easy to fit. I can also wear my bra and I definitely need to!

This has been purchased for Mother of Groom. Have not worn yet but know I will be very comfortable in it. I like the ruching in back as it hides any bulges from bra.
