Great question! Regarding using other salt packets in the Naväge Nose Cleaner, the answer is yes and no.  YES – you can add other salt packets to the top tank (this would increase the amount of salt in the solution, making it hypertonic instead of isotonic), but NO – other salt packets cannot be used as a substitute for a Naväge SaltPod.

Yes, the Naväge Nose Cleaner and Naväge SaltPod 30-Packs are coded as health care products, and they can be purchased with your Flexible Spending Account  FSA credit card.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) specifically includes nasal irrigation systems on the list of products qualified for purchase from FSA accounts and with FSA credit card (Internal Revenue Code Section 213(d)). Great question! Naväge SaltPod capsules have a laboratory-validated shelf life of greater than four years. They are labeled with an expiration date that is four years from their date of manufacture.

​However, there are two, precisely measured ingredients in a Naväge SaltPod capsule: pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride (sea salt) and ultra-purified water. These ingredients are extremely stable and known not to degrade.  As a result, it is likely that SaltPods have an even longer shelf life than has been laboratory-validated.
