Easy starter hydro system
I was frustrated starting my seedling in dirt and decided to try a low cost entry level hydro kit.I was very pleased with the results of my first grow, and my plants thrived in the system.I did have trouble transplanting because they grew so well in the small cups provided that I was reluctant to disturb them but it worked out fine.

It works for hydroponics
This is a nice setup. It's easy to set up and use. It works great for smaller plants like spinach, lettuce etc.

Nice little system, good for a first timer to learn with
It includes most everything you need to get started, except fertilizer and seeds. This is my first foray into hydroponics, so it seemed like a good unit to learn on. My goal is just to grow greens/lettuce and maybe some fresh basil. I would have given this more stars, but I had to return the first system, when the air pump didn't work. Now that I have a working replacement, I'm very happy. I've added a pH meter and a PPM meter so I can better track the plant's needs and optimize growth. Unless you have a good source for sunlight, you'll need a grow light. My total cost was about $100, including a grow light, but that's many times less than those expensive systems that I see advertised. If this is successful, I plan to simply add another system and grow twice as much lettuce.

Well done. If I had the means I would do the same
More than 20 years ago, I made my own hydroponic system. It was surprising like this on but mine was much larger in size and capacity. I am definitely okay with the smaller size and I know there have been advancements since I started. Considering this day and time, I am in my 60's, it will be fun to see if I can make it happen.

Great for the price
I bought two of these at once from different, sellers as there are so many sellers it seems all offering similar products. This one is the best!I didn't think about it very sell, but the other one I got is a different color so it doesn't block out well the light from my grow lamp so I have noticed a little more algae than I would like.

UPDATED REVIEW!!! ALGAE EVERYWHERE
Kit is usable until algae takes over.Yellow container let’s light through easily triggering and helping algae populate like crazy…I would not recommend this kit.Baskets are too shallow, will not be great when plants get taller. They are ideal for starting but not growing past sprouts…The clay balls included are WAY too big and bulky for the small net pots. Not sure what they are thinking including ones of this diameter. I had to use my own smaller diameter clay ball medium…Keep in mind you will need nutrients, a strong light source, and PH kit to be successful.
