Best all round bluetooth headset I've used (and there's been a few)
SummaryHad this for a week or so now and the intitial impressions are good, functionality, comfort, call quality and battery life are all good.Fit / ComfortIt is surprisingly comfortable and in my stays in my right ear very well even without the supplied ear hook. My left ear on the other hand it does not feel quite so secure, I'm guessing this is down to the shape of my ear, but still better than the JabraTALK this has replaced. It is very lightweight and a bit smaller than other headsets I've had so this probably helps. When it is in my ear I can't actually feel that it is in.Battery LifeThe battery life appears to be good and I like the way it actually translates battery life into estimated talktime which it announced everytime you switch it on. This appears to be quite accurate too, when you have a fully charged headset it announces it has 7hrs of talktime and following an hour phone call this dropped to 6hrs of talktime. I would feel comfortable going away for a week and not taking a charger with me although it will probably invalidate the warranty as it uses a standard micro USB connection if you have a Android phone, Kindle or MiFi dongle the charger will fit and more than likely charge successfully.Call QualityProbably the most important factor As with all the other Plantronics headsets I have had over the years the call quality and connection quality is great, people sound clear to me and I've jet to have anyone complain that they can't hear me. The device has always stayed connected through any phone call which I can't say of the JabraTALK.FunctionalityThe extended bluetooth capability means it can play music and other sounds from my iPhone, the quality is perfect for podcasts and sat-nav instructions and even though it is mono, music is quite good too. The fact it is a multipoint headset is very useful for people like me who have both a work mobile and a personal mobile as it connects to both when you switch it on and then whichever rings it connects to.AccessoriesUnlike other reviewers I got the USB car charger and the pass through charging cable, I can confirm that the supplied charger has sufficient power to supply the iPhone 5 with enough juice to charge the device and use Sat-Nav at the same time as charging the headset; something not all 12v USB chargers can do. Also included in the package was a plastic ear hook which I'm guessing could be used if your ear didn't quite fit the device or you felt that it wasn't as secure as you would like.

Solved my problem!
Sound wise this is great. I've been suffering for ages to get an effective solution to making calls in my van. I drive a lot and have to make calls whilst in my van and have just given up on visor blutooth devices, they just dont work well enough for van use. This is the answer to my prayers! Once I figured out the best ear attachment (it comes with 4) it sits perfectly, to the point that I forget if I have it in or not. I use it by popping it out after a call and when my phone rings i'll put it in and push the button to answer it, It just takes a few seconds to get it secure. The sound is really clear and the person on the other end can't tell that im on a hands free device. Ive been using this for quite a few months now and would say that the battery has started to run out much quicker (hence the 4 stars) but it still works well and only have to charge maybe once a week. Bear in mind that its used all day everyday! When I first had it the battery would last for almost 3 weeks! Charging is really easy, its just the standard phone charger lead.

Excellent headset
I hate bluetooth headsets, they really are a pain in the, um, ear. I've had quite a few over the ears (boom boom! Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week) and this one is most certainly the most comfortable. It is also incredibly light and can be easy to forget that I'm wearing it. I do recommend using the over ear loop though as I'm not convinced that the ear gel is that good that it caters for all ear types in all conditions. My set is paired up to an iPhone 5S; I work in the marine environment where its usually hot and humid so when I'm out on survey, I keep my phone in an ibattz Aqua Refuel case (http://www.amazon.com/ibattz-Refuel-Aqua-iPhone-Charger/dp/B00F4S76VO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1391222743&sr=1-1&keywords=ibattz+aqua+refuel+for+iphone+5s). While offering supreme protection, the case does cause some issues in that the sound is muffled both ways. However, using this headset, the sound quality is excellent both ways i.e. me hearing the other person and them hearing me. Absolutely zero complaints from either side. I've no idea what it's like in the car though; I have a fully integrated bluetooth set-up in the car so haven't needed to use it. I can't get the voice activation to work but then I've only spent about three seconds trying. It's not something I can get excited about as it's not that big a deal to press the button to answer a call.Maybe I was lucky, don't know, but I got the dual car charger in my box (i've seen a few complaints that it hasn't been received).I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.By the way, the official Apple store is knocking the same set out under the name "Plantronics A170". It's exactly the same but £49.95!
