Incredible value for money, superb amp tones, class leading sound
I've been playing guitar for 30+ years. I've got about 30 guitars, 100+ pedals and multiple amps including Boogie, Marshall, EVH and Fender. I'm quite a tone aficionado. I'm incredibly impressed by the quality of the amplifier models in this cheap little modeling processor. Using custom IRs, I was able to get better crunch, saturation and modern lead tones, with more authentic harmonic complexity, from this unit than I could coax from either the Line 6 Helix or Headrush pedalboard. The tone authenticity of the amp models, especially the Friedman BE and Fender Deluxe, are up there with the big players: Fractal FX and Neural DSP. That they have managed this in such a small and affordable unit is a phenomenal achievement. The unit is small and quite plastic feeling. The screen is not very high resolution. The foot pedal feels cheap and flimsy. There's not much option for inputs and outputs, and no effects loop. These are all evidence of Nux building to a price. But they invested where it matters: in the processing power and modeling software. This thing blows all the other low cost modelers away when it comes to amp authenticity. If you are considering a Mooer, Flamma, Harley Benton, Joyo or similar Chinese budget modeler, I would recommend this over all of them. I've tried them all, and sent them all back. This is a keeper. I've also got an MG-30 on pre-order. Really looking forward to getting a bigger unit with an effects loop.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to have many amps and exf pedals this is it.
I haven't worked with many other modelers except one for my Bass but I didn't want to drag an amplifier back and fourth any longer as I am getting older. I decided to go with the MG 300 based on price mostly but also the flexibility to tweak settings to my preferences. I am somewhat surprised at the quality of the sound and the ease of use. I especially like the management console on my Surface tablet and use it when playing live as it makes changing the setup really quick and easy. I don't care for heavy distortion or grunge so my chosen presets are more toward old rock and progressive country sounds and these are quite realistic. Let's face it changing the amp, efx pedals and cabinet between songs would be totally ridiculous without a whole crew of people to run around back stage and do it. With this little pedal I can just tap and go. I guess there may be higher quality units out there and much higher prices but I can't see them being all that much better. I have been able to get the sounds I want from old Fender twin reverb to blues leads and some slightly more edgy sounds with this one box run through the sound system and can change from one to another between songs with just a tap on the surface screen. The only thing I would add is the management console for iPad as that is what we use for the music and being able to do both on one device would be great. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get all that versatility this is it. I have been using it for several years and am on my second one (my fault not the machines) No complaints.

Incredible Value
I just had a chance to finally try the NUX MG-300 out. It is a really cool budget modeler and a great value. Pros: 1. You can use it in front of a PA mixing board, powered speaker, with headphones, or your computer without a guitar amplifier. 2. There are a lot of really good preloaded tones. 3. You can easily do a lot of adjustments on the effects unit without having to open it up on a computer, but opening it on a computer gives you a lot of options and a better interface to work with. 3. You can use IRs with it. I haven’t tried this, but considering IR pedals are at least $100 this is an awesome feature for this unit to have at this price. 4. Built in drum loops. 5. Small footprint. Very portable. Cons: 1. This is not really a con given the price point, but it is not the sound or build quality of units like the Line 6 Helix, Neural DSP Quad Cortex, Kemper Profiler, or the Fractal Audio Axe FX. It doesn’t compare to the $1000 plus units. 2. Build quality is not great. A lot of cheap plastic. Someone in the comments somewhere said it was made out of metal. It has metal in its construction, but some critical parts that I could see getting a lot of use and abuse on-stage are plastic. Overall, for the money it’s hard to beat this thing. I think this is a great solution for someone that is getting into guitar and wants to play with different amps and pedals to learn how they sound and function without having to spend thousands of dollars. It also doesn’t take ton of space. If you bought all of the kinds of amps and pedals this thing models out of the box you would need at least a small garage just to store it all. One other thing to consider is I ran this unit in several different setups and the one I liked the best was just the NUX through a Samson RS112a 400-Watt 2-Way Active Speaker. It sounded good with that speaker and if you think about combined cost it is a bit less with more functionality than the popular modeling combo amps on the market.

Impressive piece of technology!
I'd been using my Digitech RP250 for decades and knew it was time for an upgrade. Have tried that trendy sound module programmed by a phone but this Nu-X blows it away. The amp, cabinet, mic, mic placement and speaker selections are great and the differences are not subtle, but very realistic. Have read some complaints about the wah/volume pedal, but I just use my old Vox wah pedal and rarely use its pedal so can't really say. I use the Nu-X with a Les Paul, Strat and Ric 360 and am able to create a variety of great sounds for each type of guitar. I even run mic'd acoustic and classical/nylon guitars through some of the Nu-X's clean settings for recordings and they sound superb. You can easily get lost for hours experimenting and tweaking. Incredible bang for relatively few bucks!

Great for someone who wants sounds for guitar at affordable price!!!
If your a guitarist, but not a professional one who spends all the extra money’s on guitar stuff, this is a great buy. It allowed me to play with a lot of different sounds for what was basically the price of two maybe and I mean maybe three pedals. Not to mention, once you understand how to use it and the software you can download, it really makes practicing so much more fun. One thing I found very special was the ability to use with or without an amp. I prefer headphones so I can really balance everything out, without disturbing others. While I know it’s possible on most other set ups, the size of it and some headphones fit in my guitar bag or case making for easy travel and honestly, more chances for me to want to bring it places. I bought a headphone splitter and I can share my music with others without needing to bring my whole rig. Again, this may not be a pros bread and butter, but for anyone breaking into playing or even someone who wants to play with sounds for a good price, this is such a great product. I’ve had it for months and it works flawlessly still. Would recommend quality guitar cords as I did find a hum that starts when on for a while with less quality cords. Even with good ones it starts up but just restarting eliminates it so I don’t mind. It’s worth it.

Critical piece missing - updated
UPDATED - NUX Support reached out and have been very helpful. My Mac was already seeing the MG300 as an audio interface but Quicktone wouldn't connect. I ran the firmware update successfully and then it was able to connect to Quicktone editor, but only after I tried SEVERAL USB ports. There are a bunch of USB ports that don't work with this device, though they do fine with everything else. I'm not a fan of any device that is this picky about connectivity. Again I know it's not a pricey piece of kit. But I don't want to have to juggle gear around so it finds a USB port it's happy with. I want to like it as it sounds pretty good and the company seems like good people. ORIGINAL REVIEW below I watched a bunch of Youtube videos before deciding to buy this. I already have a Kemper, and just about every plugin made, but wanted this for more and "different sounds". The key feature with this for me was the USB connectivity and "QuickTone" app. The unit does NOT ship with a USB cable, and I've never seen anything this finicky about USB cables. I've tried 3 different cables here and none of them connect. They all fit, there is just no connectivity. If it's going to be this picky they need to include the cable it needs. I've ordered some more cables but I'm actually not holding out hope that they'll work. I've seen people say "make sure to get cables that carry data and not just charging". Maybe that's the problem with all the cables I've tried here, but those cables actually work with other devices that transfer data. Yes this unit is inexpensive but I'm not going to go through several orders of cables to try. If the cables I've got coming don't work either, I'm sending it back and getting an Ampero II instead. UPDATE - I've tried 6 cables now, including brand new ones. The QuickTone app still doesn't connect. With any of the cables I try, I see a gray outline of the MG-300 in the QuickTone GUI, but it still says "Please connect the modeler with USB". My Mac DOES see the device as an audio device for both input & output, so I know it's actually connected and passing data as I can play audio from my computer over the MG300's outputs. But the QuickTone editor app doesn't connect. Even at this low price point, and with the pretty decent sounds in this unit, the UI for me isn't worth keeping if the app won't connect for editing patches. It's being returned.

NUX MG-300
I watched video after video describing the NUX MG-300, but I was still unsure of what I would get. What I got is an amazing little processor/interface. The software is easy to use and editing on the computer is a breeze. I have read the editing instructions for edits on the fly using just the unit, but I haven't delved very deep into editing the unit that way. The LED window is easy to see, multi-colored, but small. My old eyes appreciate having the software to create patches. Is this a Helix or AxFX? No. But at a fraction of the cost what you get is amazing. The amp simulations are very true to form. The impulse responses give each amp the flavor you would expect when plugging into those cabinets. If you are in the market for a good sounding small processor, look no further! Highly recommended!

Awesome but has a few issues.
First off, this is a great choice for someone looking to practice or gig with. I gig with it and it sounds great. Setting up custom pedals is a little tricky but once you get the hang of it, you are set. Gigging every weekend made my metal/channel selector buttons go out, but I fixed it by taking the button out and putting a rolled up piece of tape inside the spring on the bottom of the button. The spring will loosen with time and that causes this issue. But besides that, the amount of settings and ease of use is remarkable for the price. I highly recommend this for anyone.

Amazing value. Great tones. Great minimalist jamming
NUX MG-300 Multi Effects Pedal TSAC-HD Pre-Effects,Amp Modeling algorithm,CORE-IMAGE Post-Effects,IR,56 drum beats,60 seconds Phrase Loop There are a few options when it comes to ultra budget , ultra portable modeling amps pedals for electric guitar. Nux (this) , Mooer, boss.... Il keep this review short and sweet becasue you're able to u-tube a HUGE library of videos showing it's capabilities and comparisons to one another. Will highlight a few things : 1. It is plastic. You're gonna want to second guess if you're using this gigging frequently. Personally, I do think it's sturdy enough for a NON bar scene where you're fairly static and your take care of your gear in a well protected gig bag. 2. No dedicated tap tempo foot switch. Tap tempo is acheived with a button not a foot switch. So it makes for live band situations awkward becasue you have to bend down and tap in with a soft rubber button ... Maybe a firmware update can somehow allow this? Maybe not? Really big issue IMO. 3. The factory presets are suitable for hard rock and metal styling. They sounds pretty darn good though. But that's why a lot of online video reviews are geared toward that style of music but honestly this has great capacity to reproduce some warm ambient lush sounds as well. Really good tones can be realised when you take the time to edit. 4. PC editor is extremely easy to use and intuitive. It's just like a virtual pedal board.... So that makes it very quick to catch on and start editing. Settings are instant and reflected on your physical pedal too. Very powerful. I really hate editing on the pedal ... Even if the screen is sharp and color... It's just too small. So making this full visual editing capability on PC makes everything forgivable. If you're a realtime tweaker that likes to tweak the sound while the band is rehearsing, I think this is not your pedal.... But if you tweak on PC and generally good at getting everything right before band rehearsal, then this is gonna work for you. 5. Limited I/O. As you can see you just have stereo out (headphone or instrument)..... Or USB for audio adapter mode. You get what you pay for ... Small gigs , you're gonna need a DI if you're plugin straight to main sound .... Oh the AUX in is handy for hobby players who practise with tracks and just jam into headphones. Overall I think people looking for a super budget price point with amazing tone capability, you're gonna want to look for this thing and give it a chance. I picked it up with warehouse price 160, and that's seriously unbeatable. You'd also now have temptation to buy the bigger brother mg30 too but if you're looking at that then I think you're not in the same category no comparison. Didclaimer: I'm just a hobby player with a fender telecaster. I don't perform on stage much anymore with an electric guitar so I sold all my analog pedals and down sized to this for simplicity. I just use this for direct recording into pc and self jam with music into aux input and headphones and no amp. I can't be bothered with buying excessive plug ins on PC when recording, so this has it all , no fuss great tones in one box. This is my use case mainly and that's why I love this Small footprint form factor with minimalist I/O .... In fact If there were an option to NOT have the volume pedal I would have gotten that instead!!
