Best case out of 5 I own.
I'll begin by stating that I have owned four other cases prior to this one (yes, I'm one of those who needs to get a better case as soon as it comes along), but I believe this to be the last one I'll want to get for a while. This case OtterBox 77-21392 Commuter Case for Samsung Galaxy S III - 1 Pack - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Glacier is by far the best for protection, looks, feel and size in my opinion.First off, all ports are easily accessible. The charging and headphone ports have larger square cutouts with rubber flaps, leaving the easy to get into with the OEM mini-USB plug and pretty much even the L-shaped headphone jacks. The flaps won't open in my pocket so they're very well measured. I say this because my Translucent Teal Androidified CruzerLite TPU Case- For Samsung Galaxy S III will not fit the OEM charging plug. The cutout for the charging port is very small and requires much pushing, repositioning each time. Also, that particular TPU case would push in on all four sides of my Zagg HD shield I bought when first getting my phone. The TPU case is a good one IF you have no shield or buy the shields that only cover the screen and not the bezel. A small notice is that air pockets are created under the Android logo design and the back of the phone comes off when removing it. None of these issues occur with the Commuter case. The materials are high quality. The rubber fits around the phone perfectly and the volume and power buttons align with the rubber casing as if it came from Samsung themselves. The hard plastic seals the deal (as well as the rubber around the phone). It keeps everything snug and in place the way a protective case should. It needs to be mentioned, however, that the lips of the rubber case overlap with my Zagg HD shield, but in a good way (maybe 2-3mm) such that it keeps the edges flat, NOT pushing in like the TPU case did. So to me, this is the perfect case.If you think this makes the phone too thick (there are very helpful picture uploaded by someone already), let me show you another one I ordered and never use: White and Black Kickstand Hybrid Case Hard Gel Cover w/ Stand for Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300, I747 (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T) . It's much cheaper and the only plus is that it has a kickstand, but it is HUGE! This case maintains the sleek form and offers the protection needed. I haven't thrown my case, but I have dropped it a couple of times leaving my car and while doing laundry and no problems so far (knock on wood). I will never fully trust any case, but I believe this to be the best there is, so far.The lips around the phone don't cover up the touch-sensitive back/menu buttons and the ugly (yes, I think the Galaxy S2 was nicer) physical button is also easy to access. If this is too big and you'd like a smaller case, then the only one I have that I can recommend to anyone is the elago G5 Slim Fit Case for Galaxy S3 (Fits Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and other Carriers) - Soft Feeling Dark Gray - ECO PACK . It's expensive and minimalistic. But if that's what you're looking for then go for it. The Commuter, however, is what I keep on my phone at all times. Removing it for a replaceable battery on longer trips shouldn't be an issue. Just don't count on the included screen protector being anything special. I use a Zagg and it's one of the best around. If there are any questions, I'd be more than happy to help as I can.

This is a GREAT case for the Galaxy S3
I have this case for my S3, and I love it. The fit is nice and tight, gives great protection, and best of all, keeps the slim profile of the phone. In looking for a new phone, I really liked the features and the slim profile of the S3. In shopping for cases, most of them seem to almost double the thickness of the phone. While this would provide some good protection, I wanted the best of both worlds. The Otterbox Commuter case is just the ticket. My previous phone was a Droid X, and I had a commuter case on it, too, so I was prepared for a few of the negatives that some mention. Another thing I liked about this case is that the outer hard shell is white, while the inner soft shell is dark grey. I bought the white S3 for a reason, and most every case I looked at was either black, blue, or some other color that covered up the white phone. Not with this case. Here are the pros and cons that I have with this case. Again, I was ready for the cons, so these were not surprises to me.Pros:Tight fit - Inner soft shell fits the phone very tightly, so you don't have any ugly looking "bubbles" around the edges.Good protection - soft shell absorbs impacts from drops, hard outer shell is toughScreen protector - the included screen protector is 100% clear, so you don't lose anything on the gorgeous display of this phone.Port protection - charging port and headphone ports are very well protected from dust. Inserts fit tight, but are still easily accessible. THIS CASE IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE WATERPROOF.Cons:Slick - Outer case has a slick finish, so the phone is a little slippery in the hand. The exposed areas of the inner shell around the face of the phone help, but overall it is a little slick. If you want a little more "tackiness" to help you hold onto the phone, try the Otterbox Defender case. My wife tried both cases, and went with the Defender case because of this reason. NOTE: If you have the white phone, and go with the Defender case, the color scheme is opposite on the "Glacier" model. The inner soft case is white, and the outer hard case is dark grey. This was a deal-breaker for me.Rocker button/Power button - These buttons are stiff, so turning the phone on/off, or adjusting the volume, take a little strength. My mom, who has the S3 with this case, has a little bit of a hard time turning the phone on/off. It is not a problem for me, however. Just takes a little more pressure, is all.Overall, I would recommend this case to anyone wanting to keep the great look of their phone, while giving it the protection it needs. I'm sure there are other cases that work very well, but this was the best option for me. Good luck!Update 5-8-2013:Over 5 months, and I still love this case. Surprisingly, the outer case is still bright white. I was worried that it would turn dingy with use, but hasn't so far. Granted, I take great care of my phones, and I don't work in a very dirty environment, so you may have different results. I have dropped the phone a few times, and have had no problems with the phone. The case is very tough, and protects the phone very well. The plugs that go into the charging port and headphone port are still in great condition, even with pulling them out on an almost daily basis. Rocker buttons for volume and on/off are still a little stiff, but I'm used to it now so I don't even notice it. Would definitely choose this case again if I had to buy another one, but it doesn't look like I will need to anytime soon.

this one seems all good.
The case fitted well and seems to be genuine.. I say this because I ordered an OtterBox case for another phone previously which fell apart and was clearly a fake..... So far, this one seems all good.

Great dual-layer case!
A bit troublesome to get my phone into the case, but it feels well-protected inside. There are two layers - a rubber layer that hugs the phone, and a hard plastic shell over the rubber. There are holes/flaps for earphones and the charger, and covers to hit the volume and power buttons. This is a sturdy, high-quality case. The box comes with a screen protector and cloth. Great buy for a reasonable price. I will be sticking to OtterBox from now on.

Why buy anything else!
Had several otterbox cases over the years for various devices and have never been let down yet. Maybe a little bit more expensive than other cases but you get what you pay for and the build quality on these are superb.

One of the best S3 cases next to the otterbox defender
*The 3rd otterbox case I've owned. This case is not recommended for an outdoor person, but someone whose activity is mobile (commuting as name indicates) but is primary urban. The Defender and Armour lines are for rural, tradeswork, outdoor use.PROS1) Rugged. Not as tough as the Defender version but you can drop it from waist height with little worry. Otterbox claims it will protect from dust, shocks, bumps and scratches.2) Best smallest case to greatest protection ratio...3) A quality product by a company who specializes in case making, have purchased 3 cases from them for 3 separate units and have had zero complaints. It is WORTH the extra few bucks.4) A design that will rival most of the hokey ones out there, with the added benefit of it actually being functional!!!5) Speed of delivery was exceptionally fast, got it the day after ordering which may be due to using amazon prime (not trying to sell that either but I've noticed since I've been on the free trial shipmentys are flying to my door at light speed!)6) If treated well these cases will last the life of your phone as is the case with my defender for galaxy note 2.CONS1) Could be grippy-er. Not a fan of the texture of the back, I prefer the rubberized version as used on the defender lines...2) No separate front window frame case. You get a screen protector that adheres to the cell phone screen, it is NOT like the defender line which has the screen protector built into the device. So if you already have an adhesive screen protector and want added screen protection the defender is compatible with that, the commuter only allows for one layer of protection.3) No liquid primer to make the screen protector adhesion process easier, most good screen protectors provide this...
