St. Joseph the Protector: A nine-day preparation for entrustment to St. Joseph

I have a huge devotion to the Holy Family and bought this book in Oct 2021, but you know the old joke (which is actually terrifying!): "My purgatory will only last as long as it take me to finish reading all the holy books on my shelves". But as often happens, there is a proper "time" for each book and this 1 May 2023 was the right time for making this novena in preparation for Entrustment to St Joseph. Each chapter was approximately 4 pages long ending with the Memorare to St Joseph and an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. Anyone, no matter how busy you are, can find time to pray this. The booklet begins with 2 priceless quotes about St Joseph from St Therese and St Faustina. They alone were worth the price of the book! They perfectly captured the relationship I want with St Joseph, and this booklet was the perfect aid. I will be making the Entrustment tomorrow and hope to make it a lifelong habit of praying a Memorare to Our Lady and St Joseph daily. Thank you Fr Goring-- may God reward you! I’ve always struggled to relate to and understand St. Joseph. This book is a great place to start for learning about his life, his holiness, his role in our salvation, and bringing him into your prayer life. I’m working through the Novena for the second time and I find the information well researched and also easy to read.

I watch Father Goring on YouTube so when I heard he wrote this nice little book about St. Joseph I had to get one. Wonder insights, meditations and prayers. Makes a great gift too.

Here is a very good devotional for a busy person. All the essential aspects of devotion to St Joseph are given in a succinct and very inspirational format. Thank you, Fr. Mark!

Beautiful prayer book devoted to our beloved St Joseph.

This book was a quick & easy read. I did one chapter each night, then reviewed the previous chapters before reading the next. I enjoyed the book AND learned a lot about this silent man & his hidden life.Very little is said about St. Joseph in the Bible, and he ‘speaks’ even less. Yet Fr. Mark Goring managed to uncover incredible details about St. Joseph & his life. I had no idea there was so much we could discern about the foster father of Jesus & his many titles as protector: ‘Protector of Virgins’, ‘Protector of Travelers’, ‘Terror of Demons’, etc.It’s an enjoyable, quick read & you’ll learn a ton. What have you got to lose?

The meditations are great!

I have read a book this priest wrote called hold my beer. Another great book. This is a must have especially if you’re Catholic saint Joseph is so powerful gradebook.

This book is a MUST have if you're praying 🙏 for a good, holy, saintly husband like St. Joseph. A mini book where you can slip easily in your purse wherever you go. While I have Fr. Calloway's book counterpart, Fr. Goring is my FAV. for it's compact size and prayers and reflections. Not overwhelming as Fr. Calloway's book.If you're married wife, this is the ideal book to buy for yourself or any Female engaged or getting married, courting and contemplating marriage. Makes a great, affordable, durable gift for any female, praying for a good spouse in this insane age where it's hard to find a healthy, normal, balanced man or even woman.

The reading of Day 8 is the most moving one, St. Joseph Patron of a Happy Death. Joseph's last moments filled with the tender love and affection by Jesus and Mary, having shared all their life together fulfilling God's will.Let's do the same with our own lives, showing the same affection towards our loved ones – our enemies, too – , forgiving one another, and honouring God following Jesus' words and with the help of the powerful intercession of the blessed Mary and St. Joseph. Like him, Having in profound humility fulfilled our divine mission, They will welcome us one day with the same love and affection, that time to share eternity.
