Golfer Profile Context:Height: a little over 6’ tall,Age: 31 years-old,Putter Length/Style: 35”/MalletPutting Profile: never struggled with wrist break, always used a pistol style grip, and am considered by myself and my golfing partners to be an above average putter (despite the rest of my suspect game).TL;DR: It takes some getting used to but I believe it’s the future of putter grips as it has an design of combined features that in time I have discovered locks me into a postural position to consistently replicate a new found level of “silkiness” in my stroke. Also the best visual alignment aids on the market hands down. All that said, it has some flaws, learning curves, and room for improvement. The “room for improvement” facet is the reason for this lengthy review hoping that TaylorMade is paying attention looking to improve and refine their product. I genuinely love it, but still find myself fighting it and having no fitting guidance from the SuperStroke team that I can find.For everyone else, you can skip to the Pros/Cons at the bottom if you want to trim the fat but want more detail and insight from my experiences thus far.In the past couple months I had been searching for a new putter grip and messing around with different ones at the store; everything from FlatCats, to SuperStroke Oversized, to Oversized Scotty Cameron and JumboMax Pistol grips, and even armlocks and I kept coming back to the same problem I had with each.Without fail I kept thinking, “I like the idea here but I wish something worked with my palm a little more.” Context, my palms I feel protrude off the wrist quite a bit more at the base than the average person. This was something I’d noticed looking at guys like Dustin Johnson who are able to hold the oversized SuperStroke flush up against their forearm at the wrist, or even Bryson DeChambeau with his arm lock holding it flush up against his arm all the way into the wrist. I couldn’t position my hands/wrists/arms any way I tried to make that happen.This made the idea of oversized grips and armlocks seem minimally beneficial to me from a movement locking standpoint. That said, I recently changed all my grips over to JumboMax UltraLites when I discovered I was battling arthritis in my 31 year-old hands and needed a putter grip that didn’t feel like a toothpick comparatively. This was the primary motivation as I don’t feel I struggle with wrist movement much if at all in my putting stroke ironically. I was close to just getting an oversized Pistol grip and calling it good enough.That was until I accidentally stumbled on this WristLock SuperStroke while browsing listings of Dustin Johnson’s grip. “This is exactly what I’ve been saying I would LOVE in a putter grip!” It seemed as if it would contour perfectly to my wrist, and as my biggest struggle putting is alignment, the wide flat faces on the forward and backward facing parts of the grip and visual aides on the outward facing part of the grip were also extremely appealing. As I have a 35” Odyssey White Hot Pro Mallet, I wasn’t terribly concerned with the length issue you see mentioned in most other reviews.So here are my takeaways after practicing at home, on the practice green, and on the course a few rounds:Pros:1) The flat face design is simply the best visual alignment aid I’ve seen in any putter grip, including FlatCats.2) Like all SuperStrokes, the grip surface texture and firm yet somehow also soft foam body provides you with exceptional feel and feedback.3) Expounding on the previous point, the grip is technically thinner than your oversized grip, so it provides a better gauge of distance and feedback than the Oversized SuperStrokes do.4) The visual contoured line design on the grip provides as many reference points for consistent grip placement as even the most finicky grip tinkerer could want. Any way you choose to hold it (reasonably), there’s a series of reference points for you accompanied by any number of nearby reference points if you get the itch to tinker.5) The WristLock knob feature does contour pretty well for most. Also, using the reference point system described above, it conceivably enables you to use a consistent Hockey Stick style grip just like Happy Gilmore if you so choose... Hockey Players in particular should gravitate towards this grip. It’s literally like they simply sliced the backside of the knob and tape off the top end of the stick and left you with the knob on the front.6) The WristLock knob design combined with the flat face on the front and back palm sides provides and exceptional mechanism for harmonic balancing of grip pressure. To clarify what I mean by this, I mentioned I consider myself an above average putter and that I’ve never really had an issue with wrist break in my stroke. Well, turns out there’s another piece to that “silky smooth stroke” people talk about when referring to guys like Dustin Johnson; a piece that I never realized existed until playing around with this grip after having it installed. Namely, by using the flats of my palms on both flat faced sides and leaning the pressure of the knob gently into my wrist, suddenly something clicked and I felt myself guided into a pendulum like slotted stroke with a take back and forward stroke effortlessly staying on the same line and plane. The very slight lean and pressure forward of the grip into your wrist also sets you up in a way that uses gravity to aid your pivot from take back to forward stroke that gives you that buttery effortless feel, allowing you to focus on your strike of the ball rather than maintaining your line and tempo. It won’t be automatic even with my descriptive tip I’m sure, but okay around with it, give it some time, and I’m positive you’ll find it.Cons: (The whole reason I wrote this whole text wall review, hoping someone at TaylorMade’s SuperStroke division is paying attention to this...)1) The knob could be bigger. It’s sufficient, but for someone like myself it puts you on the very edge of being comfortable with how far forward you have to tilt the putter to have it lean into that wrist contour just right. I’m still struggling with the awkwardness of it at times, but I sank a 12’ Birdie putt on the last hole with it in my last round the other day so I’m not complaining too much. It’s just different and awkward getting fully used to it.2) At just over 6’ tall, I would not put this grip on anything shorter than a 35”. For 5’10” and below a 34” might put you right on the edge where I am.3) Clarifying the previous point, the knob would exist in the same place relative to the shaft on your current grip. It doesn’t extend above the shaft but sits right on it like ever other grip does. Effectively this cuts off 1” to 1-1/2” from your hand placement height relative to the shaft. This is what makes it so awkward getting used to. It takes finding the right combination of added forward tilt of the putter, back-leaning shoulder tilt, and forward hunch over the ball toddies your correct slot. If you’re like me you’ll find it’s somewhere adjacent to your current stance and posture yet notably different. Unless you decide you’re actually pretty comfortable leaning over more and spreading your grip out to use the full length of the much longer grip and tilting your shoulders back just a bit more going full Happy Gilmore style of course (like I almost did haha).4) Its perhaps a bit thinner than what most come looking at SuperStroke grips for. I feel they could make a size tier line of these like they do their other models.5) They really leave it to your imagination to figure out how to best use it rather than providing any sort of fitting guide material. Or at least I was unable to find anything aside from their short promotional video here on Amazon that gave any sort of hint.6) The color options are severely limited. That said, I got the green which fits right in with my general style preference.

This wristlock grip has totally changed my putting game for the better!I was originally going to try an armlock grip and ran into this grip as part of my search for something similar --- so I decided to try it. It does take awhile to get use to and I feel like you really need something similar to a pistol grip (like you see in my picture) to feel it lock into your wrist the way it should. I think Superstroke should make more grip sizes to accommodate different grip styles. Not every grip will work for this I don't believe.That being said, I'm surprised not more guys on the pro tour are using this because I feel like you get the best of both worlds when it comes to feel and anchoring the putter. It feels like having my old putter in my hands except that its attached to my left arm. In other words, it feels hardly legal lolIf you buy this grip then lower your expectations with it. It's not a magic pill and takes awhile to get use to. It took me about month of using this daily before it started to feel good --- and work the way I originally envisioned. Alot of the negative reviews guys have posted seem to be weekend golfers looking for the magic pill. There is no such thing in this game but this grip will change your game if your willing to practice with it.

I put the grip on and the wrist lock set up did not feel good to me. Before the grip dried, I turned it so the the wrist bump is in the back of the shaft. It is almost like putting with a thick ruler. It may sound weird, but it works very well.

Fantastic grip. Excellent texture as usual for Super Stroke. I tend to wobble my putting stroke in transition so I thought I would give this a try. Happy to say its not a gimic. Im able to feel the shaft "lock" into my lead wrist and my stroke is much more stable and consistent resulting in better puts. Very happy with this grip. I putt lead hand low and works great just make sure you orient it correctly! Only negative is that it would be nice to have more color selection.

I like the design and the feel but it doesn’t fit right on my putter. The length of the grip requires a longer putter to fit properly on the shaft and I don’t want to extend the length of my putter. Because the grip is about 14” long it extends further down the shaft where the shaft is narrower so there is a gap between the shaft and the grip. I suspect you would need to use two layers of tape down where the shaft narrows. Unfortunately I installed the grip and found that out too late. Wasted $29.

Put this on my 34" spider. It will take some adjusting in your stroke to get comfortable with it. But I belive it helps alot. Club face staying more square helping me keep my ball on my aim line.

Great grip!!! For the ones that already choke up on their own putter. If you want this grip and you have a 34 inch putter you'd have to extend your current putter to around 1.5 to 2 inches, to suit your 34 inch length
