Controls Heat Well
I had another hose that was difficult to control the temp of my fryer. This allowed me to easily control the temperature of the flame.

Stick with OEM
Bought a cheaper unit which the rubber hose melted from the burner heat and caused it to go up in flames!!!WOW glad I was there when it happened or it could have been real ugly. So take my advice and go with the OEM Bouyou Burner so you can avoid a catastrophic fire!!

Great replacement line for a propane smoker
Bought this to replace the stock propane line for my Masterbuilt Dual Fuel smoker. With the stock line, you could only change the flame level by using the knob on the front of the smoker. This caused big swings in the temperature that were difficult to correct. After some reading on various forums and such, I was directed to buy one of these replacement lines by many who had similar issues. The built in needle valve on this propane line enables me to dial down the heat further than the stock line would. I can leave this on just the point of "open" and maintain a temp between 225 and 250 with minimal effort.I will advise you though, this thing does go up to 10 PSI, so BE CAREFUL. If you turn the valve even moderately, it will turn your burner into a GIANT FLAME TORNADO OF BURNING DEATH. This valve is VERY touchy, and you need to be delicate. On this particular Masterbuilt Smoker:1.) Turn your propane tank on. 2.) On the knob of your smoker, turn it to the highest setting. 3.) On the needle valve of the propane line, turn it "open" just enough til you can hear the gas flow. 4.) Ignite with the smoker ignition. All of that being said, it's easy to install. You literally just replace whatever old line you had. It was definitely easier than trying to install a needle valve on an old line.It did the job I intended it to do, and that's all I (and my BBQ) can ask for. I'd recommend it!

Liked the length
Liked the length. Couldn’t maintain temperature as described by other people that have used it for the same issues

Reliable. Good value.
I bought this to increase the heat output of the tube burners in my grill. It works fine for the money. I only wish the needle valve was less sensitive; it can be difficult to dial in the exact flow rate I desire and notice it can go from too little to too much just by gently tapping on it. But with just a little patience, I am able to make it work and for only around $20, it is hard to complain. I also own a $12 King Kooker 10 PSI high pressure adjustable regulator that was about $25 after buying a $12 hose from Lowe's since it didn't come with one, and the King Kooker regulator is a better regulator. But it is also about $5 more and required a trip to Lowe's. The braided hose included with this Bayou Classic regulator is nice and I am not concerned about it failing or catching fire.

Well Made and Does the Job, BUT....
Seems well made and does the job. BUT... a friendly warning. I bought this to replace a hose and regulator that had gone bad on my turkey fryer. This one is 10 psi. I tried to find out what the pressure was on my old set up and couldn't find it anywhere... but now I gather it must have been only 5 psi, because when I turn this one on just a bit it roars (good!) but adjusting it is tricky -- very small turns of the knob needed to tweak the size of the flame. This is in no way a criticism of the product, which seems fine -- just a caution to make sure you buy the right pressure -- 5 psi or 10 psi -- for your own unit.Clear as mud? You bet!

Requires constant attention for smoker application.
I bought this to better control the flame and temp on my Masterbuilt Pro dual fuel propane smoker. It does work....somewhat. First off, this is made for a cooker such as a turkey fryer. At 10 psi, this will put the flame on like a jet engine. With that said, the needle valve needs to be turned almost off to get the flame low. Adjusting it takes finesse as moving it only a hair can make the difference between 225 and 250 degrees. I think I will go back to the original valve and cut the hose to put a needle valve on it using some barbed fittings a hose clamps. With a lower supply pressure it should work. I'll use this one on my turkey fryer.

Probably fine for the turkey fryer, does not work well with the Blackstone griddle.
update January 2020. Although my original review still stands, I am still using these regulators. I am not sure if I have just grown used to their specific idiosyncrasies or if I am just lazy and have not yet replace them. The valve is way too sensitive on these units and the hose is a little bit long, as I mentioned in my original review I am not using them for the purpose they were designed for. Your experience may be different than mine. Original review July 2017. I purchased this regulator for my Blackstone outdoor griddle. Although this does allow me to increase the size of the flames, I lose the fine control from the knobs. Also the valve on this regulator does not do a very good job of regulating volume of propane. This would probably do fine on the turkey fryer it is designed for, but anything less than full blast is hard to control. I should probably have purchased a replacement regulator for the Blackstone pizza oven for my Blackstone griddle. That regulator has a lot more control.
