Funny, Romantic, Beautiful Setting
I received a digital copy of this story for an honest review. The story opens with a jilted bride, Libby Dewitt, a type A personality, on her wedding day and continues with said bride taking her honeymoon/business trip by herself. The story continues with a description of the honeymoon site and it's owner, Harrison Banks, who has a very laid back personality. The tale continues with Libby trying to get Harrison to sell his hotel to the conglomerate she works for and Harrison trying to get Libby to loosen up and have some fun (I want to do a dinner cruise like the one described in this story!) There's plenty of really funny scenes, plenty of soft romantic scenes and some great insight to all the characters involved. The story comes to a very nice HEA ( after an interesting screw up with the two main characters). I usually don't like British humor but this was an amazing story line, both funny and romantic, from beginning to end.

Another Winner From Melanie Summers!
Since I discovered her work last year, Melanie Summers has become one of my favorite RomCom authors and I awaited the release of The Honeymooner with unabashed excitement. I am happy to say that the book lived up to all of my expectations. Reading this story was the next best thing to going on a vacation because the author's vivid descriptions transported me to a tropical paradise where I got to experience island life and fall in love, with both the place and the hunky hero, right along with the protagonist, Libby.Libby has two goals when she arrives at Paradise Bay: 1) Prove to the fiancé who just left her at the altar that she can be spontaneous and adventurous and win him back in the process. 2) Get resort owner, Harrison, to sign off on a takeover by the big hotel group she works for. Naturally, both things prove to be very difficult. Libby hates stepping outside of her comfort zone and trying new things and Harrison tells her in no uncertain terms that he has no intention of selling his family-owned property no matter how much the business is struggling.Sparks fly between Libby and Harrison from their very first meeting, and you would think that it's a case of opposites attracting--Libby being a regimented, Type A control freak while Harrison is a fun-loving, risk-taking guy who likes to enjoy everything life has to offer. But as they get to know each other better, they find they have a lot more in common than either of them thought. One of the things I really liked about this story was that both characters had really interesting backstories and family histories that informed their personalities and how they approached life. Could these two people who are both carrying a lot of emotional baggage be exactly what the other needs? This book was chock full of laugh-out-loud comical moments, swoony romance, and scenes that gave me all the feels. And the author did a wonderful job of setting the stage for future Paradise Bay books starring Harrison's siblings, which I can't wait to read! If you haven't read a Melanie Summers books yet, what are you waiting for? They are a guaranteed good time.

It's a long time since I laughed so much!
A highly entertaining romantic novel, this book had me smiling and laughing throughout the reading of it. I was appalled at myself as I laughed hardest at the most tragic moments of Libby's life. This is the first book that I have read by this author and Ms Summers really does know how to put together a story that draws the reader in from the first moments right through to the closing chapter. I could identify with Libby on so many levels. Despite having been humiliated in the worst possible way, she nevertheless keeps her head and formulates a new plan. Harrison is the complete opposite in every way. Where Libby plans every second of her life, Harrison rolls with the punches. Together they discover a chemistry neither of them anticipated and it forces both of them to open their eyes to new possibilities. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel as it is not only well written but incredibly funny and entertaining as well. This book apparently is part of a series, but it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a delightful ending. Although I previously read this book, I have also received a copy from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Tries to be funny..
..but some of the humor seems contrived and over-the-top.Chapters alternate between first person H & h dialogue; almost read like a diary (two diaries) in places. Two good-looking people with nothing in common have great sex, which seems to be the premise for their attraction and happily-ever-after. Enjoyable light read, but not especially memorable.

Fun and funny read
I read the crown jewels romance series a year or so ago now and loved it. I hadn't realised until recently that Melanie Summers had started a spin-off series. Spin-off in the sense that it's populated with characters that come from the fictional Avalonia, although most of the action takes place on a Caribean island. This series has a very similar feel to the previous series, with comedy taking as much of a role as the romance. (I did laugh out loud more than once, which isn't that common an occurrence when I'm reading.) I should just mention that I'm not actually a fan of Rom-com films as a rule (usually as they are heavy on the sickly sweet and light on the comedy) but I'm more than happy to read a good one. (I suppose I'd be happy to watch a good one, but very few of them are good.)Of course, this has a lot of the things that you would expect from this kind of read. Misunderstanding, a dreamily handsome and capable lead man, a lead woman who is usually strong and capable but seems to find herself in all kinds of trouble or embarrassing situations. But that's why books like this work. I loved it and I'll certainly be reading book two soon.If you're looking for a humorous and fairly light read with a happy ending, then grab this one. If you happen to be lying on a Caribbean island, sunning yourself and sipping cocktails while reading it, it's probably even better. I wouldn't know, it's heading into Winter here in New Zealand and I'm more likely to be sipping a lemsip than a pina colada.

A great gentle story
A great gentle story, with humour wacky characters and a bride to be left at the alter. Breeze has an abandoning life. Her mother leaves her to follow her hipster life style. Her fiancé Richard leaves her at the alter. Her need for an happy ever after appears to abandon her. Her career leaves her feeling abandoned. So she breaks with tradition and heads for a solo work related honeymoon, that was booked to follow her wedding, on a beautiful paradise island. Enter Harrison. A handsome, Adonis who happens to own and run failing island resort, due to the fact that he cares to much about his siblings and employees to the detriment of his wallet. A story unfolds of comical situations. Intriguing conversations, and lustful encounters. Resulting in a really enjoyable gentle book.

So Much Fun
Such a fabulous story. From Libby, who is funny while trying to keep herself from falling in love (lust)with Harrison, to Richard, who is absolutely boring. Paradise Bay's family are such a happy, go lucky bunch. I laughed out loud so many times. Quirky individuals. I'm not going to give the story away. Just read this book if you're having a bad day. It does wonders for your soulWell written as well

Love these books
I am now a complete fan of Melanie’s books.I started with this one and have now read them all, including her latest, Royaly crushed.I was initially put off by the strange land of Avonia, but stick with it! You get used to it. They are all great stories, good fun with a few embarrassing funny moments. But you grow to love all of the characters. And of course in true chick-lit style, the girl always gets her man 💕💕

Wasn’t sure what to expect, however once you get into the story it unfolds into a surprisingly funny book. The characters are well defined and some quite quirky which all adds to the depth of the story.1 click now you will not be disappointed
