More of a lock box instead of a safe
Nice safe for a good price...First off the lid spring hinge broke about 2 months after I bought it....and without that spring hinge it is a very big pain in the butt to hold it open while looking through the safe for what you need....I tied to get another hinge like it but had absolutely no luck whats so ever.....I have had mine for 6 years now but like I said above in the title, its definitely not a safe to keep your valuables in that you think that no one could get into once its locked....but if you just want to keep certain things in it that you dont want anyone to see or touch that lives in or visits your house,..well then its great for that purpose.......the only thing that I'm not to crazy about is that every time you press the key pad to punch in your access code it makes a loud beeping noise with each button that you press....so if you are trying to open the safe secretly while someone is sleeping in the same room, well then it's kind of annoying ....lol....but other then that I would recommend it .

Best $20 I spent so far this year,
For the price you will not find a better made compact safe. Priced just above one of those cheesy cash/lock boxes. I like that it can be used with either the keypad or the key, that makes life much easier. The other feature that is great and comes in handy, the removeable cable. The cable gives me piece of mind when I have to leave it in my car. I loop it around the front seat post that attaches the seat to the body/frame. It can not be removed unless they have cable cutters or the special socket which is needed to remove the bolts. If the thief brings those tools with them to steal your safe there would be nothing that would stop them. The theory of "locks only keep out the honest thieves". The cable is plenty long enough to loop it around other items too. I've used it to secure my leather jacket by running the cable through the sleeve and around the metal loop in my trunk. It will come in handy when I go to the beach or hiking, I've never felt very good about leaving my cell phone and wallet in the car while I'm out enjoying nature. I'll feel much better putting my stuff in this and using the cable to attach it to the inside of my trunk out of site.I have owned this safe for over a month now and it comes in very handy. I have medications that need to be locked away so children can not access them. This means I have to gain access to it at least twice daily. That's where the keypad comes in handy I dont have to bother looking for my keys and because the keyhole has a plug in it young children are far less likely to figure out all of the steps that would be required to gain access.I had first purchased a "First Alert 3010F Steel Cash and Key Box" from the drug store that I picked up my prescription from as it was the most secure thing they sold. Before opening they box I had a feeling that it would only be a temporary solution and after I opened it up that thought was instantly confirmed. The "security box" that has a lock that could be picked with a paperclip while blindfolded ya know MAcGyver style, cost me $15. I figured to buy something that was more secure than that P.O.S.cash and key box but more portable than my closet safe would end up costing me $40-$50. I didnt have many requirements besides it needed to be under $50 and it must be able to keep MAcGyver out for more than 5 seconds. So when I came across this brand name, little gem for $20 I couldn't pass it up and even if it ended up being a P.O.S. like the other one, I would just return it. Since I have Amazon Prime returning it wouldn't cost me a dime so I had nothing to loose. I'll say this I couldn't have been more happily surprised with how nice it was.I can also say that it's probably one of if not the best things I have ever bought for $20. I would still have been satisfied and believed that I got what I paid for had it cost me $35-$40. You wont be dissapointed. If you are disappointed your expectations of what a portable safe should cost are unrealistic and nothing will meet your expectations.

Not SUPER secure but it serves it purpose well
I own two of these for a couple of my company fleet vehicles. I use it as a cash box. After the 3rd time my dad's car was broken into, I decided to have him use these to protect cash and the valuables.I'm going to be real here. The metal is pretty flimsy. But, with that said, it'd take a bit of effort to get into it. Mostly using it as a deterrent it has been nice to help transport stuff here and there without a ton of fuss. I didn't want something heavy duty since that wouldn't fit as much stuff/not as transportable. The cable just fits into the box and is secured by closing the top. It too is a little flimsy but honestly if someone really wants something like this in my car it'll be taken anyways.TLDR: Does it's job pretty well. Makes me feel better about leaving money in the car. I think people also use this as a gun safe. I'm sure it'd be fine for that too if you weren't dumb about telling people what you put in it and if you don't leave it in plain sight.

Not The Safest Solution, But It Works
I bought this safe to provide an additional level of security/deterrent/piece of mind for those times when I needed to store my concealed weapon in the car. Really, this safe is just going to keep honest people honest since a medium sized screwdriver could open the safe in a matter of seconds. But that's why the label on the inside of the safe says do not store weapons or valuables inside of it - but then, what's the point of buying a safe to begin with? With that being said, this safe does what it's supposed to do. I just wish Sentry would have created an additional lip that protrudes over the seam of the opening so it would not be so easy to break into. Other than that, the keypad works great and I like the option of setting more than one code for entry and the key back-up is a very nice feature. The batteries last a decent amount as well - I haven't had to replace them yet since I've owned the safe. But one can't really complain for the price.

REVIEW OF SENTRY SAFE COMPACT P0008E
PRODUCT WAS A GIFT. RECIPIENT SEEMED HAPPY WITH THE SAFE, HAD STATED EXPECTED A BIT MORE "RUGGIDNESS" TO THE ITEM BEING MADE BY THIS BRAND, BUT SAID IT WOULD SERVE ITS PURPOSE AND WAS WORTH THE COST.SO ALL IN ALL, I WOULD ASSUME THIS IS A DECENT ITEM, AND IS BEING USED AS WAS PLANNED. I WOULD IMAGINE IF SOMEONE ASKED, I WOULD SAY GO FOR IT TO PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY IT WILL WORK, ADDING IF YOU SPEND MORE, YOU MAY GET A BIT MORE "HEAVY DUTY" OR "RUGGED" SAFE PROTECTION.AS FAR AS THE RATING GOES.. I AM ONLY MARKING THE ITEM AS AN "I LIKE IT", DUE TO THE EXPECTATIONS NOT QUITE BEING MET AS FAR AS THE EXPECTED QUALITY. I AM NOT STATING ITEM IS POOR QUALITY, THIS DESCRIPTION IS MERELY BEING USED PER RECIPIENTS COMMENTS UPON RECIEPT OF PRODUCT.

Don't misplace the keys
I bought this 7 years ago and have misplaced the keys. I know the combinations but because I haven't been paying attention, the batteries have died. There is no jump-start method to get the combo pad device to work briefly (jump-start) so I can get in and change the batteries. I contacted the company and they tell me I need to have a notary sign a document (which they emailed to me). This being the pandemic era I can't get a notary to sign. So I'll have to wait until lockdown is over which could be months. Also if I use the city notary it will cost me $35 then another $30+ dollars US to get keys.

best portable safe
I have 2 of these, keep a spare key for each one, inside the other just in case. Batteries seem to last a long time so be sure to change them out before they leak. I like the fact you can put in 2 different codes. Very sturdy. Don't lose keys, I dropped one and the batteries came loose and the key was the only way to open it.

Good
A bit bigger would be better. Easy to set up with good instructions.

Compact and Easy to Use
I needed a small safe to store my passport, credit cards and other small items that I use frequently at my home. Although the SentrySafe has been advertised as perfect for traveling, make sure you weigh it first. It's a little on the heavy side and can make a big impact on your suitcase weight. The cable that comes with the safe seems thin but I'm sure it's sturdy enough to slow a thief down if they were trying to take it. I also like the fact that you can either use a key or a combination to lock the safe. If the batteries are in good shape, you shouldn't need the key. All in all, it's a great product.

Glorified lunch Box
Sometimes you struggle when you see good reviews and bad reviews, don't struggle with this one. One of the reviews I read was that it was a glorified lunch box, and well, after receiving it I tend to agree. The item is as advertised and looks well put together but lean on it a bit or start prying with a butterknife, and you realize it might not be enough to keep teenagers out if you had a pizza lunch, let alone your valuables. Wish I could use it as a stool but dont' think its strong enough for that either. Wish I had the good sense to return it while I had the chance.
