Surprisingly good quality and a joy to use
My young grandson has developed an interest in building plastic scale models, a pursuit I am delighted to encourage. It has been decades since I was an avid modeler and I am in the process of creating new collection of hobbyist tools, gadgets and widgets. I use long needle nose pliers often as a substitute for tweezers. I prefer the surer grip they provide on small parts. Needle nose pliers are generally easier for me to use them hemostats. I did not want to spend too much and the description of these sounded like they would fill they bill. And they most certainly do. The build quality is surprisingly high. The pliers are too light to be steel, so I presume some kind of alloy has been used. The fit of the parts is very tight and they are finished very well. The handles are covered with a foam/plastic coating that provides excellent tactile feedback. The spring between the handles provides just the right tension so the jaws pop apart cleanly when you ease your hold. The surfaces of the jaws are not textured, but they are somewhat rough. The tip of one jaw on my pair was slightly rounded where it should be absolutely square. A defect, yes, but not great enough to justify sending them back. Overall, these are very nice, well suited for working on plastic models and very much worth the price.Jerry

GREAT TOOL THAT DOES THE JOB & IF YOU LOSE IT YOU WON'T SOB!
I love tools and purchased this so that I would have an adequate, additional replacement since my son absconded with my higher-quality $22 Craftsman needle-nosed pliers which he uses in restringing his guitar. Guess who will be winding up with the $5 pliers? This is NOT a 5 star piece of equipment by any reasonable assessment if you know quality, high-caliber tools; however, I do believe that this offers the most bang for the buck and functions nicely for light use and fine gripping. If you expect greater performance in a $5 tool, keep searching for Ponce De Leon's Fountain of Youth.PROS:1. Exceptionally well-made for a $5 Chinese import. (Yes, it is made in China and stamped so on the tool).2. Alignment of jaws-The alignment tolerances are not perfect, but very good.3. Comfortable grip which assists in providing good torque.4. Great for retrieving fine, small objects or hair from drains.5. One of the best values (price/quality) for 6" needle-nose pliers on the net.6. At $5, you can afford to lend, misplace or lose one.CONS:1. Made from steel and most likely untempered- NOT stainless as a fellow reviewer alleged. This is really an inconsequential consideration however, unlikely to affect performance for light use as intended.2. Grips are lightweight and most likely will not survive if used regularly.BOTTOM LINE:Highly recommended. An excellent purchase. Most bang for the buck.

It"s the longnose pliers I have been looking for a long time.
I liked the long thin prongs that can reach in tight spaces.

Professional Quality?
I suppose that for $4 or $5 one shouldn't expect too much, but be aware that these pliers have a crude fit and finish, as others have noted. Various areas around the hinge had sharp metal spurs and overall the tool has an uneven poorly finished surface. However most importantly was the fact that the business ends of the needle nose did not close nor were any part of the closing or clamping areas for the entire length of the 2 halves of the pliers flat or straight. I was able to remove the spurs with a small metal file and bend the two halves of the nose such that they now form a reletively straight and complete closure with a tight but evenly flat pinch at the very end of the nose. Also had to add a touch of penetrating tri-flow to loosen up and clean out the hinge, but that kind of issue can happen with just about any metal tool with moving parts, even new. OK... so they're now clean and functional, but be aware that you just may may need to first work on and fine tune these pliers before use. I will say that the insulating handle material seems thick and solid and the expansion springs are cleanly installed and strong. Time will tell as to this tool's longevity.

You get what you pay for
Honestly I'm not that upset over these. The black on the handles rubs off a little on my hands but it's not the end of the world. I'm using these to pull my sewing needles through the fabric I'm sewing and they work perfectly fine for that. The last pliers I tried to use broke my needle in half and these pliers haven't broken a needle so yay!

Fantastic tool for small jobs and electronic builds
I used these all the time, to remove supports from my 3D prints to pulling small gauge wires through some tight spots. I love the spring on this tool, because my hands never tire when I use the tool for an extended period of time.

The raw material from which professional quality needle nose pliers might be made
Out of the box these look a lot like a very grumpy crocodile. With a lot of time and a good flat diamond file, one might be able to make these into a reasonable (if rough) simulation of professional quality needle nose pliers.
