Switch it on and it runs a little to pressurize the system then shuts off until there is demand, for instance when the spray wand is operated. **Q: Can this be used to pump water from a 25 feet away tank to supply a sink in my summer camp....for washing hands etc, ?** A: I'd say yes. Depending on elevation difference between the tank and sink. Bigger difference = less water flow until gravity wins and stops flow. **Q: What kind of power supply can I use with this? I need to convert it from 110v to 12v dc** A: You can use a car battery, or you can buy a 110 to 12v dc converter. **Q: can I reverse polarity and run it in both directions?** A: I really don't think so.
