I would not recommend this if you have a strong and/or intelligent dog
Our dog was able to destroy and escape from her new Crate no sooner than we had left the house. It was her first time since she is an adoptee so we set up a camera to be able to watch how well she handled crating.I would not recommend this if you have a strong and/or intelligent dog. The snap closures easily were popped out of place and she was able to bend the bars with ease. I've included 2 pictures and a video. I have never had a crate ruined like this before and I've crate trained dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds.

So far so good
The crate is very easy to setup, takes less than 2 minutes. The sides of it came a little bent, but I'm thinking that's because of a soft packing and bad handling. In all, my 51lbs Golden fits in perfectly. She has enough room to move, to stand, to sit, and to lay down widely. I bought the 42in long crate and she's 38in long when laying flat, from curved tail to front paws. She was not a fan of the plastic tray as it's a little flimsy, making her scared of noises it made when walking on it. However, that is easily fixed with putting some cushion (bed, mat, etc) on top of it. I made sure to give her the whole day to get accostumed to it and placed her toys inside so she knew it was hers from the get-go. At night, she barked a few times (trying to get some attention), but went on sleeping peacefully in it for the rest of the night.Very pleased with this product. AmazonBasics again giving me what I want at a fraction of he cost.

Awesome crate, great quality for a great price.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Great, sturdy crate that only takes 10 mins to put together. The door side was stuck on another part when removed from the box, but with a little maneuvering and a pull it popped right out. Love that the crate locks are not just flimsy straight bars that slide out if you shake the door. The locks are L-shaped and have to be turned up and pulled out to open, proving very secure. The crate metal is thicker and sturdier than I expected, such good quality for the low price I paid for it! Dogs love it and are in and out all day, as you can see in the attached video. :)For anyone wondering about size...I have two 80lb, very tall German Shepherds. I got the XL 48in crate and it's so spacious that both can lay in there together if they want to. I can even fit food and water bowls in the crate with a pup laying down inside and he has enough room to move without worrying about knocking over his bowls. I also have a 42in crate, for anyone who wants a smaller size. The 42in can fit one of them with space to lay out comfortably. In the video, you'll see that both can stand tall and turn around with ease inside of the 48in size. Next to the 48in is a smaller 36in size I had for them as puppies. You can see that the 36in is only just slightly taller than their backs, and they are too long to lay down comfortably inside it.I would definitely recommend that anyone with a larger dog get the 42in or 48in crate to give your pup ample space to move and lay!

Cheap wire, very bendable.
Love how easy it is to setup but if you have a dog with seperation anxiety you should pass on this. It is made with the smallest gauge wire. I have to re bend it back into shape after every use. My dog has broken though the wire completely. This would be good for a smaller weak dog that has no separation anxiety. You get what you pay for but i was hoping for, a deal.

No Issues Here
I read a bunch of mixed reviews about these crates...We'll be moving a few states away soon and wanted a less cramped, but still safe place for our two cats while we travel. We have two cat crates, but that's too tight of a space for 13lb cats... We bought two of the 30" sized crates. They'll fit in an "L" shape in the back seat of the car. I'm not strong, don't work out, and these crates were ridiculously easy to put together. I had one minor issue with one of the shelves (one hook wouldn't cooperate), but everything else I managed to assemble. The sheet of paper instructions was super easy to follow. Possibly depends upon common sense? I noticed the 30" crate didn't have dimensions so I took pictures. We could have easily gone with the 24" crates but I'm happy we got the 30".I hope this helps anyone who has an average sized cat! The answers that are given for cats concerning this crate aren't as helpful as they could be. I have two cats, both around 13lbs. The black cat in the pictures is the smaller of the two, but he's still a good size. They'll both fit with lots of extra room. I don't regret getting the 30".

This crate is a deathtrap
This crate is a deathtrap and that statement is in no way hyperbolic. I bought this crate for my eight week old Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy. As anyone who owns or has owned a puppy can tell you, puppies are flexible little things who often lay prone with their entire body flush with the floor (the so-oft loved "sploop"). This creates an enormous problem when Amazon's included cage divider is used, because the ends of each steel strand are very sharp and the two inch clearance between the end of the divider and the floor of the pan is just enough room for a puppy to lay her hind quarters underneath it. If a puppy has their legs underneath the divider and is -- for whatever reason -- spastic as puppies tend to be, then the dog's hind quarters will get stuck underneath the divider causing them immense pain. This is precisely what happened to me late at night, forcing me to break down the dog's cage as it cried out in an absolute panic. This cage almost maimed my dog and this product should be taken off the market immediately. This is completely irresponsible. I would return it but the aforementioned situation obligated me to irreparably bend the cage in order to rescue my puppy. Had I not been home, I am confident I would have come home to a dead dog. Shame on Amazon for producing such a dangerous product.

42" is perfect for grown Golden Retriever
You can buy the same crate/kennel at Walmart for $100+. If you can wait a day or two for shipping (it's fast) then this is worth the wait. It's a great size for our 5 year old Golden Retriever (we bought the 42" one).If you have a puppy don't worry, you can still buy the big size for once they're full grown, as it comes with a divider piece that can be placed anywhere in the cage to make it smaller. If you're worried about traveling, I'm amazed at easily this cage collapses for quick storage. It even comes with a handle that you can attach to any of the wires depending on how you want to carry it. It can be easily attached/detached.The plastic 'tray' at the bottom is great for easy cleaning. The locks seem pretty pet-proof so that only you will be able to unlock it.I don't have anything bad to say about this crate. Worth it, especially if you're someone who likes saving money!

but I checked ours carefully when it arrived and it was fine. It really is very easy to assemble and ...
I bought originally for the back of the car, although we now have a mesh guard in that, but my Vizsla also has this as his crate at home, with a blanket draped over the top, and he loves it. His little cave, all his own space. There have been some comments about sharp edges, but I checked ours carefully when it arrived and it was fine.It really is very easy to assemble and collapse again but very sturdy in use. Note that although it has a handle for carrying when empty it is not suitable and not intended to carry with the dog inside. The plastic tray is easily slid in and out andis durable and tough.Excelent.

Perfect for cats too
I know this is a dog crate, but we bought it to keep our elderly cat, who has failing health, safe during the night. He can't harm himself in there, and he can have privacy from the other 4 rowdy cats.We bought the 42" (Large) version, which offers plenty of space for him to move about freely without feeling locked up. I used the divider to make a platform - now he has his own two story penthouse! There is plenty of room for a full sized cat box, a soft cat bed on both levels, scratching post, food, water and a few toys. Of course during the day he has the run of the house, we would never leave a cat in there permanently! For short periods of time it could even be used for two cats. Great price for the quality too, works every bit as good as the dedicated cat playpens for a fraction of the price. We're slightly sorry we didn't go for the double door version though, because it would have been easier to get the cat box out to clean... but we only learned about that one until we already ordered this. Still, it does the job and kitty loves it - as you can see from the picture he has no difficulties going in all by himself and eat a few nibbles before settling down for the night.

OK for a large angry cat
I bought this because I have a large 6.5Kg cat who seems to have the strength of Samson. He's too big for any of my plastic carriers and can move the plastic fittings sufficiently to break out. Although this is front-opening and not top-opening, the entry is large enough to insert a portly mass of spitting fur and muscle without the need for a trip to A&E. Once inside, there isn't much he can do about it because of the all-metal construction. Fortunately, he hasn't learned how to use a file or hacksaw....yet. If you've got a cat that can bash through a locked cat flap with his head or manage to slide a patio door open in order to go for a midnight wander then this cage is what you need for transportation of said beast.
