Beautiful holiday plates!
I purchased these salad plates to coordinate with holiday dinner plates from a different manufacturer. The Spode Candy Cane/Peppermint Christmas Tree pattern is a beautiful and perfect match. I plan to use them late October through mid January. I’mvery pleased with this purchase.

Nice but not really a good match for my Spode Candy CaneMugs
My first purchase was Spode Candy Cane Mugs and these plates are Spode Peppermint plates. I kept them because I couldn’t find a match and I was having guests and didn’t have time to replace them.

Striped border on these quality plates adds a nice modernization to the classic Spode pattern
I am very happy with the quality of these plates. I love the combination of the classic Spode Christmas Tree design with the updated green and red "candy cane" striped border. The ones that I remember from my childhood had a plain green border, and this seems much more cheerful and modern, while still retaining the classic feel. The plates are 8in in diameter, which is the perfect size for dessert, salad, cookies or candy, displaying - really very versatile. They are made in China and state on the back that they are dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe. The pattern on the plate is clear and crisp with no flaws that I can see. The plate itself is porcelain, which is slightly less strong than bone china, but they feel very durable and look quite elegant. They arrived packaged nicely, in a box that would make them perfectly suitable for gift giving. I think they would make an excellent gift, and I ordered them for the intention of giving them away as special cookie plates. However I love them so much that I don't know if I'll be able to part with them! Either way, they would make an excellent gift. Definitely recommend.
