A DIY Game-Changer
I bought this contour gauge tool for my fiancé, who has been tackling various DIY projects around the house, and it has been a fantastic addition to his toolkit. It has proved especially useful for his recent flooring project, making the task of tracing outlines—even around odd-shaped crevices—much simpler and far more accurate. From my perspective, it's not just a tool but a significant time saver, streamlining processes that used to take much longer. The quality of the tool is excellent, robust enough to handle the demands of frequent use. If you or someone you know loves DIY, this contour gauge tool is an absolute must-have for achieving precise and efficient results.

Easy to use
I got this for doing new wood flooring in my house and it works great. I did have to loosen it a little bit because it was very hard to get to go to the right shape but once I loosened it, it was great.

Great for the price.
I like this tool for its price, and also the narrow "fins", or slats, it has for a more detailed gauge. There are other similar products with 1/8" fins that just wouldn't work for me since they wouldn't give me the detail I commonly need. The downside, with this product being plastic, is that those thin fins flex apart sideways on rounded shapes quite easily and require a little squeezing together by hand to keep them straight as I am gauging an object. For the price, this is something I am okay with. For me, I want the detail of the thinner slats. To put this in perspective, I don't need this type of tool often so it works fine for me as it is cheap and accurate with a little TLC.If I were still doing Home Improvement flooring, as I did for 10 years, then I would look for something more substantial and expensive if you are going to need such a tool again and again. Having said that, if you deal with door jams and square objects, it might work for you over a long period of time. The spreading of the slats occurs when pressing them against rounded objects that try to push the thin plastic slats off to the side. The slats are thin plastic and easily bend when confronted with angles and rounded shapes. It is what it is, and it is very cheap.

Very tight
I am not overly impressed.I have not used them for project making yet.Even with the tightning screw completely removed. The pins are very tight.Maybe by working the pieces it may loosen. Time will tell.

Nifty!
Got this for my husband for Father’s Day to assist with a huge deck project around the pool. He says it makes cutting those “weird” angles so much easier and really likes it. Now he’s looking for more “weird angle” projects to do. Very happy with this item.
