Great item, but very confusing description
I couldn't tell if $19.99 was for a single collar or a pair of collars from the description of this item. The photo shows 2, but the product description's wording sounds like you just get one. Amazon customer service also said that this is for just one collar when I inquired. I had a hard time believing it, why would they sell just one collar? You would need 2 for practically any use. Well, they were wrong. This is a pair of collars, you get a package of 2 for the money. And they are STANDARD sized (1 inch) collars, not OLYMPIC (2 inch) like it states in the product description. LockJaw needs to fire whoever wrote the description. But the collars are WONDERFUL. They fit both smooth and screw on bars very securely. I even have 50 lb plates and use heavy amounts when I bench or squat, no problem. These are lightweight and very easy to use. They go on and slide off with ease, and lock tight. I had previously purchased the spring clips which are a total waste. They were way too tight and very difficult to get on and off the bar. I felt like I was going to eventually scratch the chrome coating off the bar. And the spring clips do not work at all on the screw-type weight bars. LockJaw has made an awesome product here. And $19.99 with free shipping is the best price you will find anywhere. That's why I gambled and bought them, hoping amazon customer service was wrong about how many would be shipped. GREAT PRODUCT, TERRIBLE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Fantastic product
These are terrific and I would highly recommend them. They come in a pair. They are well made and sturdy, and very easy to use. Easy on and easy off. But not TOO easy (i.e. they do hold the weights on firmly). I have been weight lifting forever and just decided to upgrade to these from clips and the old-style collars. I prefer these and will never go back. I liked these so much I just ordered a set for my olympic barbell as well. Note this model here fits the standard barbell size, which is 1 inch in diameter. I have two barbells which are both standard however they have slightly different diameters. This products fits both bars just fine.

Easy to use, but don't clamp firmly on threaded bar
The product seems to be well made, and of adequate strength for the application (which worried me a bit because it's mostly plastic rather than steel). It would probably work just great on a solid 1" metal barbell. My bar has long threaded ends, onto which a nut is spun to hold the weights in place. This method is very secure, but can be time-consuming to spin the nut over nearly a foot of bar to add or remove a weight - times two, for each end. So this clamp seemed like the perfect solution.Unfortunately, even though the outer diameter of the bar ("major diameter of the thread") is a standard one inch, the clamps would not lock securely onto the shaft. They weren't loose enough that the weights would uncontrollably slide off, but they weren't held snugly against the stop collars either. I've temporarily allayed the problem by adding an inner layer of thick tape to the rubber clamping surface, but I'll be replacing these with the traditional (harder to use) metal heliacal spring type.To be fair, the description for these clamps makes no mention of threaded bars, although other brands of the same type of item do. Again, these may work just fine on a solid bar, but didn't meet my needs.

Don't waste your life spinning lock collars
Most of my array of gym equipment is Oly, but not all of it. I have a tricep bar, EZ bar and dumbbell handles in standard, and they are cursed with spin locks that make swapping out plates a tedious annoyance. These quick locks are the answer, and they make adding or subtracting plates a breeze. I wish they were cheaper, as they are simply plastic clips. But you pay for convenience. I find it worth it.

Great quality
Writing this review prior to actually using. But I am confident they will stand up to the way I use them. I’ve been an avid Body Pumper (YouTube videos) for over 15yrs, with workouts from 3-5 times/week. It’s a lighter weight quicker rep workout and the bar/weights get tossed around a great deal! I purchased a pair (different brand) a couple months back and they worked great for the first month or so, just threw them out when these arrived. I could tell the difference in quality right away!! These actually gripped the bar and locked in place without any wiggle room, unlike the pair before. I read the great reviews and they seemed to be pretty legit and from people that actually workout as a part of their daily lifestyle. Those are the type of reviews which will share the facts.I wanted to post this review in advance because of my own experience with the last pair. The price was a bit more with this pair (by around $5). So please, when you’re going for workout equipment try not to skim. Do the research and make sure the return policy is legit, and an option.I’ll post updates if my opinion changes... but I’m not thinking it will.Hope this helps!
