I only like ground pepper. My husband and I belong to a senior center where we lunch 1-5 times per week with friends. Most of the time there is no salt or pepper. In addition, we travel a lot in our small camper, all over the US. Therefore, we wanted a very small salt & pepper grinder that we could take with us to senior lunch and use in our camper. These small and adorable grinders are compact and lightweight enough to carry in my purse without any fuss. I share their use at lunch and several people at the senior lunch; and these little grinders are liked so much that many folks have ordered these same grinders right on the spot using their phones. They also fit well on our spice shelf in the camper. These grinders are very well made and as easy to use as any large grinder. Although the amount of salt or pepper corns look small inside the grinder bowl, the salt & pepper last a long time - and because their both grinders with lids, you don’t have to worry about the contents spilling into your purse or pocket, etc. By George, I do believe that we are trend setters with the old folks (smile). I really recommend these small grinders if you want good ground salt & pepper to be handy for work lunches, camping, picnics, etc. because they are very well made, adorable, and practical and with the fair price, they are a good value.

When I received this set, I almost returned it because I was concerned the grinders wouldn’t hold a lot and I’d be refilling them constantly. They look so small. My husband laughed when he saw them. Anyway, I gave it a shot and was surprised to discover that I can get about 3 weeks of use out of each mill before needing to refill (I use them to heavily pepper 3 hard boiled eggs for lunch everyday). I fill both mills with peppercorns only, so it doesn’t seem to matter if you’re using the salt one for peppercorns. They work the same. This set would be a great gift for someone who loves freshly ground pepper or salt. They will fit easily in a purse, desk drawer, or even in your pocket. I’ve had no problems or issues after frequent use. They continue to grind just as well months later as day one. Highly recommended!

Great for travel!

It is hard to turn the grinder because it is small -- not for weak or arthritic hands. The instructions are unclear about how to control coarseness. If you unscrew the adjuster all the way, it comes off (see photo). If you screw it clockwise all the way till it stops, not much comes out. So you unscrew just one quarter turn, and then you get a fine grind (see photo). But it seems to drift towards coarse as you grind. With the adjuster unscrewed a bit more, you get a mixture with very coarse chunks (see photo). For travel, a cap snaps in, but has nothing to hold onto to open later. You need a strong fingernail to open. Not great. I don't think pepper will spill out in my pocket. The transparent part is heavy glass -- if you dropped this on a hard object, it may shatter. Overall, I'll keep this pair and give them a try in the field.

I like fresh cracked black pepper on many dishes. I bought these because of my frustration with restaurants, even some fine ones, that offered only already ground pepper instead of a grinder with peppercorns. I recently got a tiny ground pepper dispenser of the kind common in airplane meals back in the day. And this was a fine restaurant with great food! Luckily, one of these was in my bag. The design is excellent. Small and light, but the thiner, longer construction makes grinding quite easy. The screw-in glass reservoir is sturdy, cleanable, and large enough for multiple dishes over a meal or two (probably more). The plastic lid over the ground exit snaps into place, so it can easily be carried in a pocket or bag without spillage. Perfect for those of us who are fastidious about ground black pepper on certain dishes.

They were cute, but they were too small and not very functional.

Perfect for those who carry lunch with them or quick picnic. Small but works extremely well. Fresh ground salt and pepper is always nice. Product has adjustable dial for coarse or finely grinding.

These are perfect to set up for various needs. I wanted something to put my fish food in for my small tank. The smaller fish like their food ground finer. One or two grinds every day or two is perfect for them. The other grinder went home with my 10-year-old grandson who thought this was the best thing since baked bread. So he now has his own personal salt shaker. They are very easy to fill unlike another set that I tried from Amazon. I couldn’t even get it opened to put the salt into. I can think of all kinds of things that these little ones would be helpful with. Anything that you want ground extra fine.
