Size #9 Needles
This is a good brand of sewing machine needles. Size #9 is meant for lightweight fabrics, like lawn, voile, and batiste. If the packet is red, the needles are universal, which means they're for woven fabrics only. If you're sewing knits or stretch fabrics, you'll want a ballpoint needle instead, which comes in a yellow pack. Most people don't realize this, but it's recommended that you change your needle after every project (or after eight hours of sewing), not only because the needle eventually goes dull, which can cause skipped stitches and other problems, but because every project uses different fabric, so you'll likely need a different size or a different type of needle for your next project. Don't just keep using the same needle that came with your sewing machine! Invest in several packs of various kinds of needles---sizes #9, #11, and #14 are good to keep on hand, in both universal and ballpoint. If you're sewing jeans or heavy twill, you'll want a denim needle. If you're sewing lycra or spandex blends, you'll want ballpoint stretch needles, which are designed for extra-stretchy fabrics.Dritz needles are usually affordable, and you get four needles for the price, so one pack should last you awhile. They're strong and not prone to breaking, which is great. Several years ago, I bought a different brand and broke three needles in one day! Now I buy Dritz instead, and the only time I have a needle break is if I forget to change the presser foot when I switch from a straight stitch to a zigzag. In short, these are good needles. They fit most sewing machines, so if you're working with lightweight fabrics, give them a try. Five stars and recommended to anyone who has a sewing machine.

A little disappointed
These arrived on time, but the plastic cover was cracked, and one of the needles is bent because of the way the yellow part is made - the pre-made hole wasn't done right by the machine so when the needle was inserted it went through the plastic. Just a note to self to stick with Schmetz next time,

When you need some more sewing needles this is a great bargain.
I am always sewing on my sewing machine and felt a little nerves that I had one needle left. Sometime I wait til a needle break or if I am sewing a project that need to be finish quick I just gone and change out the needles from the sewing machine. So I decided to buy the 8- piece needles set and I glad I did. These needles are pretty good because I have not had to change them out and they last a bit longer than the needles that came with my sewing machine. I notice when sewing with thick fabric I just go slower because I tend to go very fast on the sewing machine. By slowing up I did not get any breakage from the needles. I don't know how long they will last but I guess a long time because I been using the the first needle out of eight for a month now. I sew everyday so this is a great buy.

Good for fine fabric
I was trying to sew with a very fine knit fabric. It kept puckering. So I switched to the ballpoint needles for the sewing machine and everything went very smoothly.

Great product
This product is amazing. I haven't had anything that has worked so we'll with my arthritis before. It is very comfortable and doesn't make you sweat like most braces. I would recommend this product to anyone who may be suffering from arthritis pain. I did buy the size smaller than it suggested because I knew the smaller one would fit better. I did receive this product at a reduced price for and honest and unbiased review.

Dritz 8-Piece Universal and Ball Point Machine...
These needles work as expected although I have had a needled break when sewing thicker fabric. However, they are sharp and perform appropriately. They have become some of my favorite needles; I can count on them to perform properly.
