It is very expensive, yes, but if you are trying to avoid having a scar then it is money well spent. I used this on a huge baseball size bloody scabby wound on the middle of my forehead after face planting on the street, and with diligent use of this AND Mederma with sunscreen, there was zero scarring. This Biocorneum silicone only takes a tiny drop to spread all over a large area and it stays moist, stays on, for hours. You have probably already done your own research online looking for something to prevent a scar if you are reading this and looking at this product, so I won't tell you what you already know, that most research and most skin doctors seem to say the same thing....only the silicone products, like this one, actually work. I do believe it does. But I also suggest getting the sunscreen tube of Mederma and use them both, all day and night every day for 6 months.... and by all means keep your scar area out of the sun if you don't want it turning red. Back to the cost of this, if you think of it as what you'd gladly pay for medicine that works, and considering how a little goes a long way and this little tube will last a long time, it helps justify the cost.

I used this gel on a scar on my arm, and it has been a helpful part of my scar-care routine. The area has continued to recover well, and I like that this product combines silicone gel with SPF 30. The sun protection is an important advantage for me. Scars can become more noticeable or darker with sun exposure, so having SPF in the same product makes daytime care more convenient. The main drawback is the price, especially considering the small tube, but I still think the formula offers something useful that many basic scar gels do not. Be sure to follow the directions and wait until the wound is fully closed before applying it. It should not be used on an open wound. Overall, this is a very good product despite the higher cost.

Bought this for a neck scar I have from cervical spine surgery. It came recommended and it’s been working great to heal my incision/scar from survey I had on 6/26/26. It also protects the incision/scar from being exposed to the sun (sunscreen). The sun inhibits good scar healing. I highly recommend it! It’s on the pricey side, but when it comes to scars. It’s worth it! You need to use a lot at one time.
