Pros-2 Entrees. I think more calories in even regular MREs should be from entrees. They should put larger or 2 entrees to make up the bulk of calories.-coffee is in the accessory pack so it would be in all the MREs along with candy-the FRH is better than og MREs. I've had new MREs that have ruined heaters, dont work at all. This seems to be better made-all the items seem to "match" as in cheese with bread, I hope there are no crackers in these.-all around solidCONS-there is a snack in a regular consumer package. These do not keep food fresh like the foil/metallic packages do. Those MRE foil packages are just like flexible cans, they preserve food well. The expiration date on the snack was only 5 months from when I got it, but all the items should be perfectly fine for a minimum of 5 years as long as it's not really hot for a long time. The main MRE bag does NOT preserve the chips/pop tart/whatever is the snack inside. I have genuine Sopacko low sodium with pop tarts in there that are all spoiled very badly while the rest of the foil packed food is perfectly fine. I suggest getting the MRE tier snacks with the proper packages, and if that is not cost efficient, at least some vacuum sealed snacks like cashews or something like that.

These mains are okay ~ Southwest Beef/Bean & Marinara Meatballs ~ but it's the sides that make meals #2 and #10 worth trying: Potatoes au Gratin, Maple Muffin-top, Trail mix, and especially the Cornbread which is moist, flavorful, and almost as good as my Mom's. There are better MRE menus but, as the name 'Goldminer' suggests, these have select components that are combined well for a fun unpacking.

The FRH on this is incredible. I used it to cook up 2 things at once and warm up the cheese sauce. As far as the food was concerned, it's about what you would expect from an MRE. The flavor was better than a typical MRE with the added seasoning. The balance was there for energy in a situation when you would need energy. It was a mix between brand name items and things you would typically see in a US MRE. I didn't particularly like the fruit mix in syrup. I would have preferred dried fruit. It also didn't have as much waste as other MREs.

no dislikes at all. I love the pack, the cereal bars were probably my favorite, absolutely delicious. for a MRE I was totally blown away, will definitely buy again.

Tasted great, everything was fresh.
