Simply the Best
Needed to change the battery on my 2006 electra glide the stock battery finally died :-( I decided to try newer technology. The battery weighs nothing compared to the old one the Geezer Glides starts in 19 degree weather no problems with no battery tender attached. Made room in my battery compartment for almost all the relays I have for all the electrical adds I've installed.I still have the original battery in my 2004 Mean Streak and I almost hope it finally dies so I can put one on that scooter too.I'll never use a lead acid battery on any of my bikes again.

Great for our use but make sure how it is mounted
I used this to replace the typical lawn tractor battery that was in out vintage race car. The cranking power was not enough to get the high compression, big bore race motor to turn over when hot. This lithium batter not only kicks the motor over just fine but saved 16 pounds in weight. The only thing to be careful of is vibration can cause the battery to dump it's charge very quickly. Apparently all the wires and coils inside are not "potted" for vibration isolation. Seems a mystery to me that the "power sports" applications it is designed for don't vibrate enough to be a problem but a big bore 4 cylinder motor was. The cure was to put it in a bracket that is mounted on rubber mounts. Haven't had any problems since we went to that on our two cars.Of interest is the manual (such as it is) warning that if the battery went down below something like 8 volts the battery was not usable. Talking with a tech at Ballistic he said to put it on a 6 amp or higher charge for about 15 minutes. If it gained in voltage then finish charging in the normal way. Sure enough, it came back and we have been using it ever since.

Amazing power in these lightweight batteries
My battery died on my bagger and the dealer wanted $185 plus tax for a replacement. I decided to take a chance and try something new so I ordered this Lithium Ferrous Phosphate battery from Amazon (Mueller Motorsports). It arrived in 5 days and when I picked up the box I thought it was empty!! It only weighs 3 lbs! I was worried that it would be bouncing around in my battery tray since it is so much smaller and lighter so I cut up an old mousepad made of neoprene and lined the bottom of the battery tray with that. Then I used the packing foam that came with the battery to secure it in place and hold it from vibrating. So far I have 800 miles on it and it works good, but it takes a little while to get it to wake up in the morning, kind of like my wife ;)All in all I think it is a good investment and the weight savings alone is really awesome. So far so good!!

If you like problems
This product was nothing but a nightmare. (This has nothing to do with the seller) Let me say right up front that the seller was very very cool and very helpful and did return all my money promptly. They simply send out what Ballistic tells them is the correct size.First one they sent , wrong size, so I went to Ballistic website punched in my bike and they said you needxxx size battery, so I ordered another one, WRONG SIZE AGAIN. They even say on their website some bikes may need to modify the battery box, but they will not tell you that if you buy this battery YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY.Here is an idea, just make the right size battery, then the positive / negative terminals are on the wrong side, negative on the left and positive on the right, oh yes they will sell you extension cables to reach the correct side at another $50 bucks on top of their way overpriced battery, then they want you to buy a special charger to go with it. Give me a break, I have since heard of many stories of this battery exploding, Ballistic sucks, do not turn and walk the other way, run run run like hell.

Works on my Lotus
I'm using this for a Lotus Elise. I've had it almost a year now and it's still working great. The only downside is I have to keep it charged with a battery tender. It will last about a week without the tender. No problem for me since the Lotus is in the garage all the time.

I have tried two of these. Both are dead in less than a year.
The first one died within a year, and It was touch and go if they were going to honor the warrantee. They finally sent me a new battery. The second battery lasted less than a year. It was unused for 3 months and disconnected from any drain, And when I went to use it, It was completely dead. Their documentation clearly states that these batteries to do drain and are fine sitting, as long as they are disconnected.I spent a lot of time building a custom bracket to hold this battery and and put in a device that disconnected the battery to protect it. Now two batteries later I can not go out for a ride, instead I am looking for a new battery. This was a complete time and money wasting effort. Save yourself time and money and do not buy this thing. Now instead of going for a ride, I am looking for a new battery.

not even close to advertised capacity
Ballistic Performance claims that these batteries have a capacity of 28 amp-hours, but the actual capacity is about a third of that. Based on the claims of the manufacturer, I foolishly purchased two of these batteries expecting to get at least 25 amp-hours out of each of them. After a good break-in period of 8 partial discharge / full recharge cycles (using the Ballistic Performance balance charger), the capacity of both batteries is around 9.5 amp-hours. This was measured with a Watts-Up meter during discharge, and the balance charger confirmed the results at the end of the charge. After 9.5 amp-hours of discharge (at 3.5 amps) the voltage was 10.3V and dropping fast, which indicates that they were, indeed, at the end of their capacity.
