Really good sturdy feeling and modern looking handles. And the company is actually in Germany!
These are way better quality than the Amazon basics in similar style. The only issue is that these only come with the squared parts that go in the 2 insets in the door instead of rounded as options. I was able to use wood chisels to make the slots but it might not be easy if your slots are not already fully squared off. These weigh about 2x what the Amazon ones do and are about twice as thick. As a tall guy with big hands these are way easier for me to grip. Also the fact they rotate up and down is great. Gave my house a whole new look and I have them in every door now.Install is fairly easy but definitely not for the faint of heart.

Junk and poor support
I purchased three locks/deadlocks in May and June this year and after a few months they are all loose/broken. Yes, I know how to install a door lock properly. I should have returned them straight away but I was desperate to replace the locks on my home. The screws are short and flimsy and that was a telltale sign right there that the locks would fail and be loose after a short time. I have contacted Amazon and they referred me to the company website but it's just an email form, there's no real support options on there.Update: after some back and forth, Amazon finally gave me a refund even though they didn’t have to - it should have been the company as it fell under their warranty. They’re nice looking locks but complete junk. Find something elsewhere.

Cheap cheap cheap quality!
Bought this for our outside gate based on the advertisement that it’s “heavy duty”. But it was so cheaply made and flimsy that we couldn’t use it and was missing important screws for the handle and dead bolt. It’s literally a joke. By the time we wanted to install it, the return window had past so we ended up using it for an internal door to the garage. But again, it’s garbage and in no way heavy duty or even builders quality. The inside lock is like cheap plastic and we doubt it will last long or do much in terms of keep the unwanted out. We don’t feel secure at all with this and would never recommend it to anyone. Cheap cheap cheap! What a waste of 60 bucks!

Solid handle, but no better than others, just more expensive.
Nice solid and heavy handle. Once installed it looks good and feels good in the hand. Latch mechanism moves smoothly, doesn't jam.Pictoral instructions that are more or less useless. They don't say what to do with a stamped centering plate - it goes on the outside or high use side, with the raised portion facing into the door. They don't say how the privacy lock works - push it on the inside to lock, turn the inside lever to unlock. And since most people will be replacing an existing handle, it would be nice to show some of the many thing that might be required to instal where the old handle was.I happen to be installing some "Designer Impressions" brand satin nickel lever handles from "Cabinet Hardware 4 Less" that I also bought here on Amazon. $7 less and very clearly made in the same factory, with the same castings, same internal mechanism, same centering piece, same privacy lock mechanism. At least the DI handle says made in China, while the Berlin Modisch says nothing about the factory location.Like the DI handle, the strike plate hole is round, with a flat on one side. The strike plates I was replacing had a D-shaped opening, so they were much more tolerant of the height of the door. I've spent quite a bit of time dealing with doors that didn't latch because the strike plate wasn't at the right height for these new handles.Like the DI handle, the installation information is poor. If you are drilling a slab to install these, then you really don't care about the docs as you have the tools and knowledge to do what you need to do. Neither tell you what to do with the centering plate. The DI handles include both squared and rounded corner strike plate and latch plates. In my house, half the doors use square and half use rounded, so I really like that I can select which is appropriate for the situation at hand. The Berlin Modisch handles include only the square cornered plates, so extra chisel work for you if the existing door has rounded corner plates. The setscrew for the handle is on the outside of the BM handles but on the inside for the DI handles. The inside is a much better location as you don't see it then.I only got the BM handle because it matched a Kwikset handle I already had and I couldn't get the privacy version of the Kwikset. Otherwise, you are much better off in all regards to get the DI handle for less.

Unclear assemble and paint easy peel off. Bad quality overall n not reliable
The product is not working and not reliable at all. Easy paint off and if you are lucky you will get one ok. And wasting a lot of time to install and reinstall

Looks good, works well, easy to install
I really like this door handle and lock. When my house was painted I had them replace the shiny gold colored hardware with this black set. I love the black on black. The straight handle is so much easier to open and the dead bolt is easy to turn. Was easy to install and came with detailed, easy to understand instructions.

Looked Good But Did Not Last 1 Year
Update 2/24/2022 - Failed to open and close as the main entry handle froze and locked me out of my house - The internal hammer (Little arm inside that shuts and locks the door) froze and would not move to unlock the door - Had to break in and replace the hammer - did not last a little over a year. Stay away - Like I said in the original review, it will be a test over time and here we are a little more than one year later and it froze shut

First time installing a door knob...No prob!
This handle is amazing! Opening the door with my hands full is so easy because the lever turn is smooth. I did it with one finger and pulled it shut. Never installed any kind of door hardware before. The first try I thought the lock was broken because the button was pushing out. There is a slot inside the indoor handle that you have to line up with the other piece. A few minutes to line the 2 parts up (probably because I messed up the alignment to begin with) but then it was a cinch. It is very attractive. Now I need a new door!
