A nice selection of different kinds of crimes being solved by the famous detective
This is a great set of CDs with short stories featuring everyone's favorite Belgian detective. The narrator was great and the stories were short but fun. They are a little dated but it was hard for me to figure out who did the crimes so I was happy.

Christie is not a favorite author for me.
So many of the stories hang on ridiculous threads. He says he only uses his brains and not clues, but he always asks for all the details and some of the stories definitely depend on further details he ascertains. And then others the PM one for example depend on details I don’t believe would have happened.

missing an ending
One of these short stories is missing the last half. The stories in total do not add to the Poirot story lines.

Early Poirot Short Stories Highlight Christie's Skill
After writing two novels about Hercule Poirot in 1920 and 1923, her editor suggested that Christie write several Poirot short stories to be serialized in Sketch magazine in 1923 and 1924. Eleven stories were then published as a single volume in the UK in 1924. The following year fourteen stories were serialized in the US and then published as a book in 1925. This publication includes all fourteen stories, although in a different order. However, the Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings was firmly established with these short stories.Christie's sleuth writing skills are highlited in these brief detective vignettes, establishing well Poirot's popular acceptance, much to Christie's eventual chagrin because fans expected additional installments long after she had grown tired of creating Poirot sequels.Christie's fans will find here original sources for many of the famous BBC Poirot series. Those familiar with the TV series will find these stories served as inspiration to the TV productions but with shorter, more focused storylines. However, Christie's charm shines through with her clever and trademark mystery plotlines, delighting audiences for generations. This volume works well for fast escape reads one story at a time, or binge readers will enjoy the wide variety from taking in all these mysteries at one time. I was not disappointed with any of the stories, other than perhaps wishing some were longer and more developed.Although Audible's narration is available, when I purchased both Kindle and Audible items, they were not directly linked. This volume is an essential addition to both the Poirot collection and an entertaining addition to any Agatha Christie personal library.

Missing!
The Kidnapped Prime Minister is not complete. It stops long before the Prime Minister is found. The complete story is in the book, The Early Cases Of Hercule Poirot.

Bad design of the pages and a very small letter
The book is good, but the letter is too small, sometimes I can’t even see anything of what I’m reading. They also put too much information y the pages. If you read one page of this book you are actually reading 2-3 pages from another book.If you can afford buying another version it will be better.

Eleven short stories and I couldn’t solve one - genius!
Poirot Investigates comprises eleven short stories of Poirot’s previous cases recounted by his assistant Captain Hastings. The shortest is a mere 13 pages and the longest about 30 pages. As you might expect with anything written by Agatha Christie, they are all clever plots, and despite being stripped back and simplified versions of her more traditional novels, I still didn’t manage to solve a single one before it was explained by Poirot. The more I read Poirot mysteries, the more I empathise with poor Hastings. Whether this is a good thing, I’m not sure but I’m looking forward to trying to solve the next case even if it is longer and far more complicated than the ones here.

A book of Poirot short stories
I'm, so far, reading Poirot in order of publication. So this is the first sojourn into short stories. Which is good as they are all interesting stories that aren't too short and are well told. The only issue I have, is if this makes further novels seem stretched in comparison. I hope not, as the first two novels were very well written. I'm finding the Poirot stories to be very intriguing and fail most of the time to guess the culprit. For anyone not acquainted with Herculè I'd say start here, as the stories really flesh him out and Hastings (his right hand man) very well.

A Platter of Poirot.....
Poriot Investigates is the very first collection of shorts by Agatha Christie featuring our little Belgian detective, published first in 1924. There are eleven short stories in this volume, each narrated by Captain Hastings, each presenting a puzzle for M. Poirot - rather a platter of Poirot :). Some stories are superb and stand out and some not so, but it's certainly an excellent collection overall (although I feel that shorts do not do our inimitable detective the complete justice that he deserves!) and a wonderful compliment to the Poirot picture as a whole. Close, clever plotting and very witty dialogue make this collection an immensely fun and enjoyable read.

A good collection of stories, narrated by the definitive Poirot
This audiobook would be a very good addition to the collection of any Agatha Christie fan, or indeed fan of crime fiction in general. The 11 stories here are typical Christie in terms of their structure & content, and are the perfect length for listening to while in the car or just before bedtime, averaging around 30-35 minutes. They are ably narrated by David Suchet, who is THE definitive Poirot (with apologies to Peter Ustinov devotees). However, despite the fact that I love Suchet's on-screen portrayal of Poirot, I prefer Hugh Fraser (Hastings) as a narrator of the audiobooks: he seems more able to switch convincingly between the accents of the various characters and does a slightly better job of bringing the stories to life. It's for this reason that I've awarded only four stars, rather than five.

Poirot Investigates
This is an interesting collection of Poirot stories; first published in 1924 and all of which feature Hastings as narrator. Hastings often comments on how conceited Poirot is, although this is justified, as Poirot uses his ‘little grey cells,’ to solve many mysteries and even wins a bet with Japp, during this book. The stories involve missing jewels, blackmail, mysterious insurance claims, the even more intriguing case of a ‘very cheap flat,’ in an expensive part of London (unheard of!) which piques Poirot’s interest, and more. With Italian nobleman, a missing Prime Minister and a possible Egyptian curse (obviously inspired by the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922), this is a really fun collection, with some influential clients beating a past to Poirot’s London flat to ask his advice.Although I do prefer novels to short stories, this was an interesting book. Poirot is at his ease in these stories – brimming with confidence in his abilities and always eager to take on a new case. This is the third Poirot book, and the very first collection of short stories featuring Poirot and Hastings.
