i have bought two of these and I'm happy with them. Here's why...
I like the quality of the materials. Nice long power cord. Would have been nice to be grounded, but would have made it bulkier. I use these to charge a Samsung Tab S7+, Samsung Fold 3. They offer a good interface for connection to a TV or monitor. I connect up to four external ssd, hard drives, a mouse, and thumb drives. I do notice that they get warm or hot. once i had a thumb drive connected but not connected to the Tab S7+. It got really hot. It didn't cause it to fail but i was concerned with why it got hot. I just monitor the devices connected for heat. I bought them for $29.99, which i think is a fair price.

Great for MacBooks
This is a great USB-C hub to connect USB-C laptops to HDMI monitors. I've always wanted to have one cable hookup to my monitor using USB-C on my M1 MacBook Air, but I am not ready to shell out for a new monitor to that feature. This unit is the next best thing. It allows me to quickly connect my MacBook Air to my monitor when I sit down at my desk. It also has four USB-A ports to add additional components, such as my Logitech webcam. My only wish is for the USB-C cable to be a little longer since I keep my MacBook Air on a laptop stand for use as a second screen. It's not a big deal, but a longer cable would allow me to hide the hub behind the monitor.

Glitch with older system
I bought this hub to make the twice-weekly switching of my gear from my WFH laptop (a 2019 Dell XPS) to my personal laptop (a 2015 MacBook Pro) a little easier. One thing to plug/unplug instead of four, woo! And when plugged into a USB-C port as intended, it works exactly as expected. Unfortunately, my otherwise perfectly functional MacBook is the last model to -not- have a USB-C port. I bought a pack of USB-C to USB-A adapters so I could swap the hub over to my Mac, and therein lies the problem: my HDMI monitor is simply not recognized by my MacBook unless I unplug it from this hub and plug it into the laptop directly. Which kind of defeats the "USB + HDMI hub" aspect. This is the fault of passing everything through an adapter and NOT of the hub itself but if anyone else is in a similar situation—no USB-C port—and thinks they can solve the issue this same way, that would be a hard "nope." However, it still works great as a USB hub (my other strictly-USB hub quickly overheats and is generally garbage) and swapping TWO cords instead of ONE is still better than FOUR!

Finally! A powered hub for my MacBook Touch.
I've had about 3-4 hubs give out under heavy use. Had previously used the smaller Anker hub with no power. While this is larger, and requires a power source; I get an extra USB port (4 total) so I no longer need two hubs to hold all my devices (keyboard, mouse, web cam, headset). I'm optimistic that this powered version will fair better. So far, I haven't had any quirky issues with it (like having to unplug and re plug it in). It's just working. Happy.

Anker did not disappoint
I've come to love and rely on Anker products. When the work provided hub turned out to be crap, I searched for an Anker brand replacement before any other brand. Once again, exactly what I needed. works great. I'm not sure why camera quality was a choice above because there is no camera on this device, that's why I didn't choose a rating. Don't hesitate to buy.

Great Win It Is Working But.....
I bought this for use with a M1 MacBook Air (2020). It checked nearly all the boxes: substitute power supply; additional ports (the MBAs greatest deficiency to my eyes); a well known, "trusted," manufacturer. I really want to like this for these reasons and its value proposition. (An ethernet port would have been icing on the proverbial cake.) Sadly, this unit randomly and routinely drops connection to external drives. Worse, it also seems to discharge my MBA "at will." (Unplugging and replugging its cable to the MBA resolves the issue.) These issues make the unit unusable unless you are literally in front of the set up and check its charging status periodically. So.... It is of no real value to me. These issues weren't immediately apparent. I don't believe I got a lemon; I believe these are design flaws. I am saddened Anker, a company I have purchased from for well over a decade, would sell a unit which can cause potentially serious data loss under its intended usage. I should probably give it one star but it seemed more reliable the first six months or so and for the price, it may be a (short term) solution for some so two stars.

love the Anker products...this one is no different.
Works just as described. Currently I am running it to power my MacBook Pro and a second monitor. It does all of it flawlessly. I even used all three USB ports one day when I was transferring files. It also works great. I love the compact size it's no larger than the standard MacBook Pro Power pack. But it offer so much more. It's my ideal travel companion for my laptop as well. Highly recommend.

Crackled when unplugging!!
Whenever I unplugged the USB-C lead from a device, it would make a loud static like crackling sound! It seemed really nice, but I'm not gonna take any chances with an obvious defect. Also the USB-C lead is really short and difficult to set up right with my tablet. Returned and decided to just get an unpowered single and use my tablet's own charger.
