Staedtler Sliding Retractable Pencil Eraser with Plastic Sleeve, Assorted Soft Pastel Color 4 Pack

Seriously, these are the best erasers I've ever used. They erase thoroughly, yet they are gentle on paper. They're also good for cleaning all kinds of random marks, dirt, and sticker goop. I sell used books for a living, and these little guys are indispensable for helping me clean up old books. They last f-o-r-e-v-e-r, too. I bought these in 2024, no need to re-order so far, but I hope Staedtler keeps making these!! Get them! They have my very highest recommendation!

Cute pastel colors, but moreover, they actually erase amazingly well without ripping the paper. Recommend 100%.

Even with Amazon Prime, it took over a week to get these, and supposedly they were fulfilled by Amazon. I had the pink Staedtler retractable eraser with the "cherry blossom" design already, and have used Staedtler's plain white erasers before, so I knew that the erasers actually do erase well and tend to be fairly gentle on most papers even with vigorous rubbing. I use them for colored pencil mistakes, and depending on the pencils (some are more erasable than others), the Staedtler erasers will at least lift off enough color so that I can fix most of my mistakes such as if I changed my mind about the color I just put down. Of course, they work on regular graphite pencils as well. When I saw the assortment of four beautiful pastel colors at a reasonable price, I had to get them! And yes, you DO get all four of the erasers shown--not just one. I know there are so many ads on Amazon where you really, really have to read VERY closely to find out that the seller is merely SHOWING you the colors that are AVAILABLE, but that you don't get ALL of them, and you don't get to choose what color you get. Or, even if you do get 4 erasers, you don't have anyway of knowing if you will be getting all four colors, or just a couple of colors. No, it specifically says you get all four colors, so if you DON'T, you need to try to get this corrected. It might be possible to mix up the colors since the erasers don't come enclosed in a single package. They came loose in sandwich bag with a barcode sticker stuck on the front. The erasers are individually boxed in matching cardboard boxes. (I'll add pictures later when I can take advantage of the daylight so you can see the actual colors). Now here's where they lose the point--even though I'm being picky. I saw the erasers in their individual boxes, and thought it was nice that they came that way since it would further protect the eraser from getting dirty when thrown into a case or drawer with a bunch of pencils and other supplies. Nope. You can't use the box because the eraser is placed with the slider sticking out of a little "window". If you try to remove the eraser from the top of the box, then you'll end up pulling the case out and leaving the eraser behind. If you try to remove the eraser from the bottom of the box, you end up pulling out only the eraser and leaving the case in place. Of course, I have to admit I'm missing a few brain cells that have to do with opening things and putting things back together if it involved having to dismantle something first. But I ended up ripping the box to get the eraser and its case out together. You can easily put the eraser back in the casing and adjust the amount of eraser coming out from the bottom, so at least there's that! They also lose a bit because the so-called "lock position" doesn't really lock. If you can accidentally slide the slider down during use, which is a small but annoying issue. The one I opened up seems to have a slightly more "slippery" slider than my Cherry Blossom Staedtler, but neither of them really "locks" firmly at all. I also checked to see if these erasers were refillable, and they are. Staedtler makes refills in various colors including black and white, but these are fairly good sized erasers and should last a long time even with frequent use, so I didn't order any refills at this time. I like having multiple erasers and multiple handheld sharpeners to put into various art or coloring kits I made up, either as "to go" supplies I put into various purses or bags, or as part of specific pencil sets I own. One important thing to point out--Staedtler is a German company. The headquarters is Nuremberg, Germany along with rivals Faber-Castell and Stabilo nearby. But all three companies have either factories or corporate presences in several different countries. And these "German" erasers were made in Taiwan for a Korean market. The entire back of the box is covered in Korean writing, and at the bottom of the box is written (in English) the URL for the Staedtler website for Korea. I find that kind of funny. The previous Staedtler eraser I bought was also made in Taiwan, but all the writing is in English, with the company address in Germany. I bought my other eraser at a very legit speciality import shop, so everything they sell is absolutely genuine. There are lots of knock-offs of these erasers, but I do believe these erasers are also genuine Staedtler products. Sometimes on Amazon there are products that might seem suspect because the packaging is either in a foreign language (or more accurately--not in English) or has an unfamiliar variation. While some are definitely fakes, there are a lot of things that wind up available on Amazon that were originally made for Asian, South American, or European buyers.

Pretty

All of my old erasers are OLD, like 20-35 years old. In my work I need a clean erase and I was not getting it, plus a lot of smearing. Not only are these very pretty, they erase cleanly.

They are easy to hold, erase great and are inexpensive and cost more money on other web sites. I have no problems with these

I’ve been eyeing these for a while on stationary websites, so once I saw them on Amazon as a set of 4 I decided to order them. Gave one to each of my two kids for back to school and kept two for myself. They erase well and look super cute. Love the pastel colours.

They're really big but nice looking and get the job done.
