Flexzilla Pro Air Hose Reusable Fitting, 1/4 in. - RP900250

These are indispensable to have in the truck just last week somebody accidentally cut my air hose right by the end of it and I wish I would have had one of these with me super easy to do field repairs with them and get your hose running again

I repaired my air ball, the air chuck shattered. An air chuck and whip hose were more than I wanted to pay for not what I wanted. I have a couple nice basic brass air chuck, but the old hose was swaged together. I took a flexzilla hose that I already have, cut off 4 feet, and made 2 hoses with 2 repair ends. I have a suitable hose that is now closer to 20 ft on one compressor, and a perfectly functional air ball with a lime hose.

I bought a large 100' flexzilla air hose with the intention of cutting it and making a shorter hose to use in my workshop (instead of always taking out the larger hose or fiddling with the hose reel. Tip: To do this you need to purchase two of these reusable ends; one for your new hose and one for your existing hose. I was impressed with how easy they made the whole process. I literally had my 10' hose made in 5 minutes and my regular longer hose repaired in another 3 minutes once I was comfortable with making the first one. Here's another tip: If you have any of that Ideal clear cable pulling gel, a little of that on the part that receives the hose will make your life easier; that or a little spit. ;-) Legacy makes great stuff for air tools. This is no exception. Well-constructed, anodized, aircraft quality aluminum was used in these to withstand the rigors of your workshop or job site. I would highly recommend and I would purchase this product again. If you find my reviews helpful, please let me know and I'll continue to write them on products I purchase here on Amazon. Fits and works good

I bought a couple of the 1/4" fittings so that I could split a 50' hose into 15' and 35'. The spiral portion is plastic and provides much better strain relief than the stiff rubber that they use on the original flexzilla hose. The two fittings (barb and cap) are made of a strong aluminum that's been anodized to be black. I was able to really wrench the fittings together and nothing deformed or stripped. However, some of the black scratched off, so i assume that after years of use there wont be much black left and they'll just be silver aluminum. Cutting the flexzilla hose was easily done with a razor blade. Do make sure you get a nice 90 degree cut then you can go ahead and slip the strain relief on followed by the threaded cap. Once those are on the hose you can go ahead and press the barb into the hose. This takes a decent bit of force but can easily be done without adding any lubrication. Just make sure you get the hose fully seated on all sides. After the hose is fully seated on the barb you can pull back the cap and thread it on. You'll need two wrenches to tighten it down. Keep going until it wont go any farther. Now you can slide the strain relief up. It is designed to click into place, however it takes wayyyy more force than you can muster with just your hands. I had to jam the tip into the floor and lean my body weight onto it before it would click on. I don't think it's ever coming off, so that may be an issue if you plan on reusing this multiple times. The tip thread is tapered to yield a nice seal when you attach your final fitting. I was left with roughly 1/8" thread still exposed after i tightened things down. You could certainly get by with just inserting a normal barbed fitting and using a hose clamp, but this thread-on cap approach yields a much nicer result. It also doesn't have any sharp parts exposed, unlike a hose clamp.

Works great to repair my flexzilla air hoses

These will help protect your hose from kinks at the fittings. I needed them for my four tire inflation system. Cutting the original hose to make the individual sections would have left some fittings unprotected.

I believe I have the correct part, but getting the hose to reach the point of contact for the "compression" end onto which the hose connector is threaded was quite a struggle! After not getting the little "nub" correctly inserted, it blew apart, but a second attempt to get it correctly "fitted/inserted" together worked. :-) I cannot attest to its durability, but I am delighted with the "repair" at this point. I better understand how to do such a repair in the future, if required and the price was definitely GOOD! I have no regrets. :-)

Love these things

This is the same fitting that comes mounted to the "Flexzilla Pro" hose assemblies. The built in strain relief is more flexible compared to the original series. I used these on a different brand (Magnum) 1/4" hybrid hose and the fit was perfect. Those crappy hose clamp type fittings cut into the hose and are always getting snagged on whatever is in your work area. The Fexzilla fittings do cost more but I think they are worth it, a well made design.

Amazing fitting! Make sure you realize this is for the small types of hose. It adds strength, makes the hose look bad ass with how bold this is. If you pair this with a colourful or unique fitting then you will have a styling hose that is as unique as we each are.

Too expensive for what it is. I like the strain relief on it.
