National Hardware N301-606 4075BC Expanded Steel - 3/4" Grid, 13 Gauge in Plain Steel, 24" x 24

It's not exactly what I needed when I ordered it but it still has good use. I needed to repair a table but the paint wouldn't hold right and you could tell it was a replacement patch. On the other hand it can withstand cooking heat and works great as a grill basket or junk catcher for a fire pit. If you don't know what a junk catcher is for the fire pit it's for folks that throw their trash in the fire and it doesn't burn all the way. It's nice to have something down to catch all the trash so it can be picked up all at once. Don't have to dig through the ashes to get those cans or whatever you threw in

What I ordered

Flat steel grate that I use for laser bed, affordable good quality and flat.

Bought this steel grate to sit on top of a burn barrel. The size of this grate ended up being perfect as it leaves no uncovered gaps on top of my 55 gallon barrel (Justrite 26054 Cease-Fire Steel Drum also bought on amazon). The grate has held up well to heat over the course of several uses. It withstood direct flame for 10 minutes or so at a time and long burning heat from smoldering yard waste. The grate did bow in a little with intense heat but this was with a brick sitting on top of it, it did not bow enough that I was concerned however.The grate has been left out in the rain for a few weeks now on top of the barrel. Between the rain and the heat it is a little discolored but is still as structurally sound as the day I received it.This worked perfect for my intended purpose and would buy again if anything happened to it.

I put this over the hole where the kids broke a wondow out in the storage buildings. Now the giant mosquitoes are no longer able to get in there at night when I'm in there rearranging stuff. Still have to watch out for the regular sized ones though. The little blood suckers.
